  2. In the Philippines I had to put $20,000 U S in the bank and a $1400.00 application fee plus $30.00 every three years. I only go once every three years to the PRA which is where you renew your retirement visa. It’s been ten years ago when I got visa and for me nothing has changed. If your getting a New retirement visa it might be different. Every country is different. Joe that steak looked awesome.

  3. I go Tuseday for my 90 day. I hope they dont require that statement.
I keep the 800 k baht balance but i use Schwab ATM for cash to live on. Reason is that Schwab retunds all ATM charges. They also have the best wire transfer fee at $25.00 for any amount.

  4. HOLY SMOKES! What a steak! Black Angus grass fed in Australia πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί wow! So great to see all of you together. Peace and love TTT

  5. Great Vid Joe good to know about Visa changes. Great no politics! Old saying my mother drummed into me as a child is it is bad manners to speak about politics or Religion 😁πŸ₯‚

  6. That steak looked good ….. I d die for that grille . In Chiang mai at immigration we have the same requirements , was the same last year but they were relaxed on the 65,000 baht or 40,000 in my case, they only required proof for 6 months but said next year must prove 12 months and must be every month . If for some reason your transfer comes in before the end of the month , you show two transfers same month and nothing the next month they wont count it … Been doing this now for 10 years and it changes almost every year . But no big deal immigration here is very easy to deal with ……

  7. Hi Joe. I am in Chaing Rai as you know, I just renewed my Extension of stay 3 weeks ago with 800k thb in the bank this is my 6th extension and for me in CR nothing has changed for us here in Chiang Rai. GT

  8. Jonny sure cooks a mean steak , being an Aussie , I know how good that would be , glad the visa was sorted ok –
    Thanks again Joe πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ™πŸ‘πŸ˜·

  9. Interesting video and it’s good to hear all the things that Thailand need for visas..it will change I’m sure before I retire there..Really want to say thanks for all the video’s they really are something to watch while I’m stuck here in lockdown..stay safe

  10. Just had a nightmare retirement visa renewal in Chiang Mai when my monthly wire transfer of 90,0000 THB came in early on November 30th instead of early December. Therefore I had TWO deposits in November. My bank certificate showed no deposit for December. My USA bank was more efficient than usual and I paid for not having a deposit in each and every month by paying a 15,000 THB fine? to get my extension. Moral: Get you transfers, recorded by your Thai bank in each month of the year.

  11. Haha cool you caught up with Jonny I dig that BBQ / slow cooker he’s got it’s a nice peice of kit. Steak looked superbly cooked. I’m not a big eater of red meat these days but I’d make an exception for a steak of that quality.
Really useful information on the visa and agree with you 100% as a guest in the country you just follow the required procedure and that’s it, end of.
Thanks for another great vid good you can travel a bit still and got to catch up with Jonny πŸ‘πŸ™

  12. if you have 800,000 (single no dependents) or 400,000 baht (dependents or married) for 3 or 2 months prior your visa extension, Thai immigration only requires that you have a letter from a bank proving that you have the money in a Thai bank. They do not require proof that the money came from overseas. You can check it out on Thai Visa on facebook.

  13. Cheers Joe fantastic information looks like a few people will be going home.

Thailand is not for poor farang existing in their nightmare.

    I think it’s a good thing.

I love the Thai Government stance on immigration. 100% fully supported.

    Another fantastic vlog

  14. could one simply recycle the money upon a monthly basis ? I mean 65,000 baht inbound, 65,000 outbound, next month 65k in, 65k out, etc. I ask because 65k is a huge amount to spend monthly.

  15. That was a nice looking steakπŸ‘good to see you together i watch jony too..yes joe we are guests in the lovely kingdom.ive had lots time in immigration situations,an old fashioned approach helps.. look smart ,arrive on time, sit up straight and be patient, they seem lots more helpful.
Whats the fishing like at phrachuap…? Any boat trips, can you fish from the pier..?
    All the best khun stuart

  16. You guys are killing me tonight. I just finished watching Chuck on his Food Channel, and here you and Jonny come with the grilled steaks. It’s 0030 hrs 10 Jan in Hawaii, I’m going to the kitchen to get something to eat, then going to bed. Stay Safe!πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜·πŸ€™

  17. Just did my retirement extension 2 months ago here in Phuket. Just show the 800k in Bank with bank letter and copy bank book. No need show funds coming into Thailand.

  18. you’re a very smart and wise man, Joe…good on you, political views should be left for private conversations, if you’re unhappy with your current political environment, then leave the place you’re at. Don’t spread the propaganda, right?…

  19. dude as an American i got thai elite visa for 25 years… google it.. you can invest certain amount of money and you can live over 1 year and extend!!.. good for business.

  20. Enjoy your videos Joe. You show your class in the videos you make. You take the Thai laws and regulations that seem to change often and can be frustrating in stride and go with the flow and do what’s asked. You said it right you are a guest. Thanks for the great videos. Your persistence is working out. The quality is gets better every time

  21. Joe gift Love the steak πŸ₯© yum πŸ‘πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡πŸ™ well be visa agents for me no-brainer. Have a good one πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ married Visa to thail for me 🌟

  22. I just made it back. Got out of ASQ on the 4th. Yay!!!
Thanks for the visa requirements update. I plan on having a monthly deposit in a Thai bank for my extension in a year.
What an experience getting back here but so glad to be here.
I have not been here log enough to miss western foods but don’t think it will be too long if I have to watch you guys eat like that much more. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹

  23. HEY JOE AND GIFT, WHAT A NICE VIDEO YOU MAKE. THAT STAKE LOOKED WONDERFUL. I HAVEN’T HAD A STAKE IN THAILAND IN A LONG TIME. THEY HAD A RESTAURANT IN KORAT CALLED THE T-BONE BUFFETT AND I USED TO GO THERE ONCE PER MONTH. THEY WEREN’T THE BEST T-BONE STAKES BUT IT WAS ALL YOU CAN EAT.I USUALLY HAD 3 OR 4 STEAKS. THEY WERE A LITTLE ON THE THIN SIDE. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET ONE ON THE REAR SIDE. THEY LIKE TO COOK THEM WELL DONE. I WOULD STAND AT THE GRILL AND REACH IN WITH MY FORK AND GRAB ONE BEFORE THEY BURNED IT. LOL

I APPRECIATE THE TIP ON THE NEW RULE AT THE THAI VISA. I DO USE A LAWYER TO DO MY VISA AND THEY DO MAKE IT EASY. YES IT DOES COST A LITTLE MONEY BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IF YOU FILLED OUT THE PAPER WORK RIGHT AND THEY DO ALL THE WORK. ALL I HAVE TO DO IS SIGN MY NAME.

IT’S AN ATTORNEY THAT CHUCK TURNED ME ON TO. IF YOU RUN ACROSS ANYONE THAT NEEDS HELP LET ME KNOW AND I’LL BE HAPPY TO PASS ON THE INFORMATION.

  24. Joe best steak I’ve had in Thailand is steak heaven in phitsanulok gifts home town you should try next time your there it’s a proper steak house

  25. There appears to be increasing evidence that a 40 year old medicine called Ivermectin, cheap, readily available, off patent/generic, on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines and the discoverers of which received a Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine is an effective preventative (prophylactic) and treatment of the worldwide illness. This is based on the findings of a group of US critical care specialists called the Frontline COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance. Their website is http://www.flccc.net. In addition, a Doctor Andrew Hill of Liverpool University has recently undertaken a meta-analysis of clinical trials of the effectiveness of Ivermectin on the treatment of the worldwide illness on behalf of the WHO and has reported positive results. Unfortunately, Doctor Hill’s report has been made unavailable on this platform but it can be found on the internet.

  26. Hi Joe. Well cooked meat. I like the “medium” cooking Johnny did. Perfect with his cooking stuff. Looks like same than for french fries : cook at low temperature and another one at high temperature. For visas extension new requirement, I don’t get the point of the new policy change : drag foreign of cash money into thai banks (like for investor schemes) or fight against money laundering πŸ™‚ ..because if you just put 800k THB into thai bank when retiring,..,then the next years, you will not have to prove anything more,

  27. I renewed my OA retirement about 3 weeks ago in Sisaket. I had the 800K in the bank for well more than the 2 months mandated, in fact for nearly two years. No mention of the monthly overseas fund income need as that is the alternative method. Well it was at least. Plus you can use a combination of both bank balance and income legally but some people have had issues I believe. If I heard you correctly Joe, that is a major policy change. I have seen nothing in the press or social media. As you suggest Joe, everyone should check their local IO.

  28. Joe: I have a question: With regards to applicants for a visa based on retirement, two years ago the British and American embassies announced they would no longer provide the letters certifying the amount of income a visa applicant makes every month, which was required by Thai immigration to qualify under the monthly income method versus $800k minimum balance. Has this changed? Did they reverse that policy or does Thai immigration no longer require the letter?

What documentation is acceptable now to Thai immigration to qualify under the monthly income method? Lastly, does it need to be specifically a pension or can IRA withdrawals and/or rental property income count also?

    Thank you.

  29. Joe ,Jonny can really cook a steak .
Hope you Jonny and Gift enjoyed it , looked terrific .
Did us Aussies proud the old Jonny with that effort lol .

  30. In Bangkok, for a retirement extension of an OA visa, also my 3rd, you need 800k in a Thai bank. They have never asked for the origin of the money. What was new for me last October was that I needed a full year bank state because the bank requirement is that you keep 800k in the bank 3 months after your extension and two months before your next extension and not less than 400k during the other 7 months of the year. Also, for my OA, I had to meet the health insurance requirement.

  31. Good policy, not interfering with your host nation’s politics. πŸ‘ As you know, it bothers me when outsiders make negative comments about the US when it’s none of their business how our country is run.

  32. But you still can get the visa if you have a combination of income and bank savings equal to 800k baht right ? My SSI is just short of 65k baht but I complement it with savings.

  33. great content… thanks for the heads up on the visa ext! same-same for thai wives in america, no matter what food options are available, thai will want their sweet-sour-spicy-something.

  34. Good video Joe but your intro music is to dramatic. Otherwise I hope your well & look forward to the next one as always. Stay safe. Best wishes. Mike.

  35. Hard to understand the monthly proof of funds coming into Thailand? Is this above in addition to the 800k Baht kept in the bank? Hope other viewers can add more information on this topic.

  36. Greetings Joe, Gift and dinner guests, that steak looked amazing, can’t believe you managed dessert as well! In my humble opinion the financial requirement for retirees is unnescessary ,I really admire your honesty in sharing this useful information. Take care and have a lovely day.

  37. Joe, you are a straight up guy and I know we can take your word as gold. Thanks for the good attitude and showing me that there is good steak in Thailand.
    Peace brother

  38. Joe, everytime I watch that new intro that Jonny did for you, I’m waiting for the latest news report 🀣, no half measures with mad Jonny, no mcdondalds or burgerking, always the full shebang

  39. Hi Joe, great to see you and Gift again. A double whammy with Jonny and Som making cameo appearances. The steaks looked amazing.
Did you enlist the help of the lady outside of immigration? I did and she was very helpful.
Take care my friend, hope to see you soon.
    Derek

  40. thai food is very tasty, But it could not be really healthy, to eat hot food in plastic bag… I also wonder if you can find biologic meat and vegetable.. stay safe, stay healthy

  41. Steak looks great, do you know the price per kilo for that? Embassy DC has our passports and may delay us as they now say 3 weeks to put in visa, something that should take 10 minutes and i need to do COE all over once we get visa back! Not happy as we have flights and ASQ booked

  42. Have you looked into the “Thailand Elite Visa” program? That is what I was considering doing. Based on the videos, it seems as though many, if not all of the visa issues disappear. (at least at the time of their video in November 2020. It lasts for 5-20 years.

  43. Joe when you mentioned Jonny promised you a 500 gram steak the first thing I thought of was his Kamado Grill,… ten seconds later you were pulling up to his house and the first thing I noticed was the big red lid was up …lol, that was nice of him to do that for you, congrats on your weight loss challenge WIN !!! ,… ( by the way , Kamado makes a grill called the Joe Joe Jr. ceramic grill )
