Enjoy the surroundings Joe.
hi joe Chiang mai one of my favs places been there 3 times so far,,love the coffee cafes and the history of the place ,,see you in bangkok in a few weeks πππ
If your wondering why your stool is dark black for 3 or 4 days , don’t worry you’ll pass the burger. I was getting afraid, thinking of going to the hospital.
No problems here my friend. LOL! Thank you for watching. All the best!
a lot of history in Chiamg Mai
Great video buddy, I want one of those hamburgers nowππ
@Foreigner Joe just about to go get some breakfast in phitsanulok went this place yesterday was great and good price to
Thank you buddy. That makes two of us.
I sure you do jonny
Congratulations Joe ..you succeed in making me hungry for a burger. Busy place CM. Safe travels
Sorry my friend. LOL! All the best!
Nice weather Joe you had to wear your Jacket thatβs good for a change.Chiang Mai is more busy than Bangkok nice Restaurants.
Everyone is wearing masks in Thailand
Coronovirus my friend. All the best!
Coronovirus my friend. All the best!
FLU OUTBREAK CHINA
Can you blame them? I worry for my friends in Thailand and Japan.. and worry for my friends in China most of all.
That was a good experienceπ
Looks great Joe. ππ
nice.
Great video guys! Continued safe travels and keep having fun…no worries about the feedback…understand you need to enjoy yourselves also. πππ Loved that picture of the old guys on the wall 10-15 years from now….ha ha.
Enjoying the video very much..feeling hungry man…lol..ππππππππkeep it up.
Next time your coming up to Chiang Mai, be sure to contact me and the wife and we’ll spend a day with you….. Been to that lake, Huay Tueng Tao many a time, it’s a great place to take someone to and enjoy a nice meal with a great atmosphere….. It does look like you stayed in the South West part of Chiang Mai, which is a very touristy area. Maybe on a future trip you can stay in the old city center which shows more old style Thai features…. It looks like you were at the old town on Sunday evening for the weekly Sunday walking market….. Looks like you all had fun, welcome to Chiang Mai…….
Thank you my friend. Will do. All the best!
Very Good ! Place is busy wow. Food is amazing. Thanks for bringing us along.
Are you worried π§ about the coronavirus?
I’m not overly concerned but I do try to take preventive measures when around big crowds of people my friend. All the best!
Great video joe. Chiang mai is my favorite city in Thailand. I always stay in the old city. So much to do around there and east of the old city there are many more markets and night life. So many good restaurants there as well.
Always a pleasure to follow your trips!
Thank you so much my friend. All the best!
Next time if you cross the street there is a placed called βThe Salad Conceptβ. Big menu with coffee, juices, and organically grown vegetables. Best salads and wraps in Thailand. Lived in Chiang Mai for 3 years.
Prefer village life. Clean air, no mask needed. Peace and quiet to sooth the soul. Eggs are free from the chickens out back of the house (295 Baht for 2 eggs and a few sides!!!!!) But damn what do I know, to each his own. You are clearly loving your life brother, and that is what it is all about. I am jealous as I will not be full time living in LOS for another few years.
Had a good belly laugh Joe when you said I might not get up, i need a chair at the lake lol. It’s quite the sight on Sunday nights coming through the old town walls looking down on the sea of people at the market. I was at same spot 2weeks ago, looks like everyone is wearing masks now because of the coronavirus. Loved every minute of this vlog. Almost 10k subscribers Joe, well deserved budππ
Thank you so much my friend. All the best!
Joe looks a little bit anxious at the end when he takes off the mask ;)…
Holy!! $295 baht for breakfast in Thailand!! Big spenders. Toronto is one of the more expensive cities on the planet and I don’t pay that much at a breakfast restaurant here. Last week me and four friends had the same size breakfast with bottomless coffee included for $7.50 CAD (175 baht) each. Granted, it’s a frozen wasteland here in Canada at the moment but seriously!? I really want to move to Thailand but I fear by the time I’m ready to retire it’ll be far too expensive.
Stephanie Simmonds
I was paying that price in London 8 years ago six days a week when I was working on the dust ( trash man rubbish collector ) whatever you guys call it . no such thing as bottomless coffee in the U.K. and the ambience was nowhere as nice as that place , more like a greasy spoon.
It would cost about the same if not more in the states my friend. Definitely not a breakfast that I would eat everyday. There are many cheaper options in Thailand but western food will always cost more. All the best!
That particular area, Nimman Square, in the video where they had breakfast caters to young IT workers who work remotely and prices are inflated due to their salaries and spending habits. English breakfasts, granola smoothies, waffles etc… If one is not careful you can blow your budget in Thailand, but it’s not difficult to find great value if that is your preference. Even in Nimman just a few blocks away in either direction there is low cost Thai food. It is a matter of knowing where to go and what to buy as fits within your budget.
That was obviously a specialist breakfast place (and worth every baht by the looks of it;). For sure wouldn’t have daily of course. Can also get 99 baht western breakky in places, depends if you want quality and what you’re in the mood for. BTW, perspective, just checked Toronto price for Khao Pad Gai at Bangkok Garden restaurant = $17!!! Now THAT is expensive 555!
HEY JOE AND GIFT AND OTHER PEOPLE. I WAS GONNA GO TO CHANG MI BUT IT LOOKS LIKE TOO MANY PEOPLE FOR ME. I JUST DON’T LIKE CROWDS ANY LONGER. WITH THIS VIRUS GOING AROUND IS ONE MORE REASON NOT TO BE IN CROWDED PLACES. YOU GUYS ENJOY YOURSELF AND I’LL WATCH FROM A DISTANCE. LOL
I like CM,been there a few times now over the years,.i stay at the vista hotel just inside the old city walls,.800 bht a night and loads of parking, handy to get to all the attractions to,.i recomend Archers in CM for breakfast [google it] that burger would have floored me especially after all the food you had before it ! the lake looked like a good place to visit, but I couldn’t be doing with the siting on the floor either,. scarry looking with all the people wearing masks around thappe gate its not the best attraction in CM but night bazaar is worth a visit,.upwards and onwards joe , cheers ,.
Nice! You guys had room for those big burgers and breakky after all that walking π
Hello Joe and Gift , my friends own a restaurant in Chang Mai ” Dee Doo ” restaurant . Andrew and his Thai wife are the owners . I know you are very , busy but if you get a chance to stop bye please say hello to Andrew . Across the street from Chiang Mai Gate hotel !!!… Enjoy looks great be safe !
Ok , enjoy and be safe !!!…
We already left that area but will try next time my friend. All the best!
Stay away from the Top North Hotel…..See the White Elephant Mountain….that was great…see the Mountain People
the old city all ways had some thing going on…
Another great video Joe and Gift..Always a nice pick me up in the morning as I am getting myself together in the morning. This makes my day.Nice walk thru on the markets. That place that you passed called Black Canyon Coffee is supposed to be very good.It is also nice to show the American and other english speaking people an alternative to visiting Bangkok. I would imagine that the language barrier isn’t as bad.
Going to Chiang Mai in November. We usually go there on our visits to Thailand. Great place, I love it. Thanks joe.
Thanks for the video Joe and Gift, Iβm interested in getting your opinion when you get back about Chiang Mai. Traffic is no way as bad as bangkok
Where did you stay at, looks like Nimman district where the coffee shop was. Thats area Iβm looking to move as many restaurants so close.
Let me know when you are back and see you in May. Michael & Sharon
Love chiang mai. Try the night bazaar. Great seafood cheap prices. π
Hi Joe and Gift, Stayed in Chiang Mai for 3 weeks a year ago and while not a party place, the people were very cool and the temples are beautiful. If you are still there go eat at Gracie Thai food, its on trip advisor, very good and cheap Thai food, packed with people. All the best, thanks.πππ
Thank you my friend. We already left the area. All the best!
I hope Gift appreciates and knows how lucky she is to be so young and living such a fun, entertaining and less stress life. π I would switch places with her for a couple of weeks π
Never been to chiang mai but your video is an excellent tribute to the city, thanks Joe
Great video. Thanks
Glad you’re stl out exploring brother. Chiang Mai is crowded and busy….but fun
Nice one Joe ,, you let me drive your new car and you will have a great relaxing ride in the back with Gift ,,,,,, you will both sleep like babies
BTW I drive all over Thailand with only my yellow Roadway thai map so no sat nav noise in the vehicle
Hi Joe alot of people wearing masks is it cos of the virus ?
Glad to see you and Gift and your friends are enjoying yourselves. Enjoy your retirement my friend you worked hard for it ..
The best breakfast in Chiang Mai is the German restaurant next to the Montha Guest House.
Just don’t mention the 2nd world war
will have to try it next time my friend. Wee already left that area. All the best!
Really breaking in that new vehicle. Good on you. Thanks for this video. I’m planning on visiting Chaing Mai, as well as other cities, when I come to Thailand in September.
You are going to have a great time my friend. All the best!
Anusarn looked quieter than when I was first there 25 years ago……I guess the tourists have just spread out more to Nimman and Maya…….many a happy year spent there.
Last time I was in Chiangmai in 2010 I took a river cruise up to where Rambo 4 was filmed.
Chiang Mai is an awesome city to walk around but those sidewalks are deceptive. They’ll be wide enough for 3 people then suddenly disappear and then you are walking in traffic — Particularly in Nimman Square where you had breakfast at Ember. Lots of great western food if that is one’s preference in that square, it seems to be a digital nomad stronghold. Nicely done videos my friend. Appreciate you showing the diversity of Thailand through you and Gift’s perspectives.
Question Joe – Where is the best place to let capachino in Thailand?
I usually go to SB’s and True Coffee my friend. All the best!
Not sure if your still in Chiang Mai but try to eat at a place called, Cooking Love restuarant. Great food but get very busy. Enjoy your stay be safe
Chiang Mai is a beautiful place to visit, live and enjoy life πΒ Well done Joe and Khun Gift
I enjoyed your travels.
Great video Joe, I love Chiang Mai. Miss it all the time.
Dude!!! Wear a mask!!!
You guys are so cute. Weβre so glad to see you guys having such a great time!! Safe travels home….if youβre not actually there already. Hahaha!! Paul says hi!! He was so surprised to see you in a leather jacket! I told him it was much colder up there and then you gave the temps. Hahaha
Just saw the ending and am glad you guys were wearing masks! Itβs getting very concerning out there! China is not being truthful about the extent of the problem and its still spreading outside of the country. Take care! π·π·β€οΈβ€οΈππΌππΌ
Joe can you please tell me the situation at the moment with Coronavirus I am going to Thailand this Saturday from what I have heard itβs ok in Thailand at the moment
Foreigner Joe I thought so I will be there on Saturday maybe see you around
Right now all I know of is one confirmed case here in Thailand πΉπ it is a taxi driver who had passengers from China π¨π³. You can check travel advisories as well to stay updated. In my opinion, it is still safe to travel Thailand πΉπ but I would avoid Chinese tourist areas. You can also wear a face mask π· when out in the public and carry hand sanitizer with you at all times. All the best!
Thanks Joe. I’m thinking about visiting there on my next visit to Thailand.
Great video Joe n Gift thanks for keeping us on your journey across beautiful Thailand Chiang Mia I was there 2006 more (Foreigner’s there now Joe) Thank-you again. Daz down under.

Gosh, I hope Gift feels better soon. She often looks like she has a sick tummy on your trips. I get motion sickness so I can empathize. Feel better soon pretty Gift!
Chiang Mai a great place to visit but too busy for me, some great history in the old city, the population has out grown the infrastructure. Enjoying the ride, thanks for taking all of us along. Many blessings to you, Gift and familyπ
Cheers π»
Thank you π for watching my friend. Many blessings to you and your family as well. All the best!
Sounds like Jonny had an experience in the car, I hope it wasn’t too bad…

Hmmm 5.5 hours to get there? Seems you did it in less then 2 mins haha. All that menu looks good. Not sure I could sit in that hut my back and knees would be toast and not work again for hours. Wow huge burger I would love that it looked awesome.
Thank you for watching my friend. All the best!
Hey Joe I can share your pain on sitting on the floor, even younger just not practical so failed my membership to the to the Hippy movement. Good look around Chiang Mai, thanks for that! as its changing fast like many of the tourist places. π¬ π§πΌββοΈlol.
Thank you for watching my friend. All the best!
Joe, I haven’t watched one of your videos for a while but I missed your laid back style. So refreshing!
Thank you so much my friend. All the best!
Chiang Mai is a mess. Other than trip to the doctor and some essential western foods, and Home Pro thereβs not much to see after a couple days. I avoid it like all polluted, over crowded cities.
This is Chiang Mai tower , Air Force One your recon mission has revealed two pretty flowers with long black hair what a find ! LOL Hello ladies !!!… Enjoy and drive safe !
Thank you so much my friend. All the best!
Hi Jonny – nice to hear an Aussie accent (no offence Joe)

New American follower here. Thanks for the tour – I really enjoyed it. I try to visit Thailand from the US every other year but many, many years ago I lived in little village called Pattaya. Back when there was only ONE hotel and horse back riding on the beach. Truly was a paradise. Maybe I’ll run into you while exercising at Lumphini Park… Β Chuck Dee and ΰΈΰΈΰΈΰΈΰΈΈΰΈ (Suethape)
Thank you π so much my friend, greatly appreciated. If you do ever run into pleas be sure to stop and say hello. All the best!

Never expected Chang mai to be as busy and modern as it is . Always had this thing in my head that it would be more village than city . Maybe because Iβve heard so much about the elephants walking around or maybe Iβm living in another era . Thanks for the vid stay safe .
Thank you π so much for watching my friend. Stay safe! All the best!

Chiang Mai is the second-largest city in Thailand. They just have a height regulation on the buildings, so it’s more spread out & seems smaller.
Thank you π for that info my friend. Stay safe! All the best!
Hard Rock Cafe. Brings back memories. The lake too. The Night Market! The memories
Thank you π for watching my friend. Stay safe! All the best!
They are all wearing facemask way back in January/ February?
