  2. Valencia looks like the place to be if you live in Duma. Weather is cooler, getting better restaurant opening and already there. Need transportation since it is a little remote. It’s what 15-20 minutes away from the blvd in duma. Not a bad choice. Rents will be higher.

  3. Foreigners who are not careful will have to take care of their online GFs’ husbands and kids more than ever. Look out for those red flags 🚩 Be smart – guys. This is a decent looking neighborhood.

  4. The Filipinos are just nice people..I remember getting held up at gunpoint on our jeepny in 1980…Even the robber said “please” he was very nice about it.. i’ve been laughing about that for 40 years..

  5. Gio. Can you give me more information on dingconnect. Com. My Filipina girlfriend in Manila says it does not exists. Or maybe give me the name of the video. I can not find it

  6. Hey G and G… I am a retired USAF…guy.22 years active…spent most of my career in Southeast Asia and Pacific, in Thailand Philippines, Korea, Okinawa,

Guam and Alaska, and been married to Thai lady since 1975,however seperated 5 years.  Just to say your must have military bering in your behaviour if you know what I mean…good job lots of research into your vids, with spot on info…I kinda have a idea above southeast asia..45 years worth..

When you see my mug show up on comments…you can think this old dude has the history….stuck in conus for the moment..

    Thanks for the info…always

    Tommy Smith, Smitty)

  7. Hey perfect example of regular folks in the hood, I swear if you did not tell me you were in the PI, I would think you were in the province in Thailand 🙂

  8. Paul, the concrete ditches on each side of the road, is that open sewer lines? Does the smell get overpowering or maybe enough rain to keep them flushed out well. Just curious.

  9. The parallel is so obvious. In the states, a married man builds a house etc. The wife goes hypergamous. In divorce court most of the time she gets the house, vehicle, kids, alimony, child support and on it goes with the “parting gift”. Be safe guys thanks for the walk about well done. Respects sent. 👍🇺🇸

  10. Another good one Gio. I’ll tell you what the helmet situation in the United States is the exact opposite of over there you’ll see adults with no helmets and they make sure their child has one which makes no sense either, Hello it’s good for one it’s good for the other people just don’t think. Another nice neighborhood in the Mountain View is actually amazing but it still kills me that they have those deep concrete drainage ditches on both sides of the road with nothing to stop a child from falling in, a bicycle from falling in, if you get pushed off the road at your car your front wheel goes in there or you can’t get your car out if you go in there with a motorcycle you’re screwed big-time, just some scary stuff that I can’t believe. Stay safe !

  11. I think a guy could have the land purchased in his wife’s name. He could then have his wife lease the land to him for 30 years, and have the house in his name. Another thought, is how interesting it would be have one tourist town go all electric vehicle and have a rooster/dog noise ordinance. 🐕 🐓

  12. That was a good-looking neighborhood. It reminded me of Mexico with nicer roads. I believe in the future there will be a lot more single mother Filipinas. Maybe good for a foreigner who does not want kids of Their Own. Good video THANKS

  13. Nice area – love those banana trees! Can a foreigner own property and control it entirely through a company ? Thanks for sharing on the walk! EW 🙂

  14. Hey Gio. I live in La Union. I have seen many Veggie stand pop up. Mainly cause the local Market has limited hours to fresh fruits and veggies.. so entrepreneurs have started stands for those who dont want to get all the permits to go into the market to just get some fresh fruits and Veggies! At least that is my take on it. I take advantage of it too. i even vlogged on it !

  15. You made an observation about how Filipinas may pull teeth instead of getting a crown, etc. It’s cheaper,, but Americans are hung up about teeth. Here is a suggestion for a video….talk about common dental issues in the Philippines. I think that it’s sad that a man might pass up a relationship with a an otherwise beautiful, desirable Filipina just because she is missing a couple of teeth. My fiancee is very beautiful, but she has some dental issues. During this temporary COVID 19 separation, we are having her get those dental issues fixed. By the way, the best dentists aren’t necessarily in Manila. The previous dentist in Manila provided poor treatment, yet she works in a clinic in Manila that advertises for foreign clients. My fiancee’s current dentist is incredibly good and his clinic is in Mindanao, very close to my fiancee’s village. What are common dental issues in the Philippines and how does one find a good dentist to get those taken care of?

  16. I’m not so sure about the baby boom thing. People who are together might crank a few more out, but people who aren’t together aren’t going to be starting anything new. The Philippines might be the only exception, though. I feel like people are more lax when going out in their own barangay, but nobody’s going out there and picking up girls at the mall or wherever.

  17. No difference than the USA.
You get financially raped when you separate or divorce. If you are old enough to remember what happened to actor Lee Marvin With his live-in girlfriend.

  18. Enjoy these neighborhood strolls. Valencia looks like a great option for expats wanting low-cost living in a lush tropical setting with friendly, English speaking neighbors. That said the rising birthrate is worrisome. Nothing will destabilize a country faster than expanding poverty and hunger.

  19. That’s a nice area to live also, thanks for the walk and talk Gio, some nice houses there too. I wouldn’t think there is much point in looking for anyone serious on the dating sites, as there will be no visiting there for a long while. There will be plenty of dating opportunities when things open up again, and probably plenty of pregnant girls.

  20. How much do you think would it cost to get a new full set of teeth ?
I’m asking for two reasons, if you like the lady you could pay for it after some time and and and
And what about a senior expat, trying to get a shiny new set !
    Could be a great topic.

  21. Hello Gio,I stopped at almost 5 minute mark to comment. Your comment about how friendly Filipinos are… it reminds me of when I was growing up in the 60’s and 70’s in Australia and I would imaging the USA was similar. I don’t understand what happened to the west, maybe it’s too much media influence. Let’s pray the Philippines will not change . Cheers mate.

  22. Every time someone approaches me on the streets of America they want money, want a petition signed, want to say something rude or just want me to listen to their propaganda. Almost always a male doing this. Once, I recorded a guy who was hurling racial slurs as I walked by and he tried to smack the phone out of my hands. Was going to defend but realized it wouldn’t be worth it. That’s a long comment but thanks for reading.

  23. Clarification please? My understanding is that Foreigners may own the structure (house, etc.) on the property, but not the land, correct? They can lease the land for their house. The key is to use a reputable law firm to ensure it’s done properly.

  24. There will be 1000s of broken hearts after this madness as many will not survive 1-year long LDR

Also it seems by the means of DOUBLE travel ban the PH government wants Filipinas to hang out with Filipinos only 😎

  25. Great video Gio…I really enjoy having a look around some of the neighborhoods. I was wondering, do those deep drainage ditches, do they retain water in them, even if it hasnt rained in a few days? Those suckers look lethal.

  26. Hey gio something to think about if you have a child you can put in their name and on the title it states land will be over seen by the father as Gaurdian of the estate until age 21

  27. There are always ‘the have and the have nots’ Within a country like the Philippines where unemployment is +40% I would not want to be in ‘the haves’ nor even appear to be doing better than the locals. “Give Me A Ticket For An Aeroplane” 🇺🇸

  28. Thanks Gio,Valencia looks fantastic..How is Grab or motor bike taxi into Dumaguete ?..as i don’t ride..
I hope things turn around for the Philippines..I still plan on living there by December 2021.

  29. Hi gio i watched your vlog and i really appreciate the topic and enjoy it.im a filipina and thanks to you for discussing some topics so others foreigners would know. You know it makes me sad when sometimes you chat some foreigners who look down and says some bad words to the filipinas but you know not all filipinas are taking advantages.if they really want to marry filipina they have to know her first.go for someone who is nice, educated if not atleast with sense of pride someone who is working who knows to earn money without depending anyone. You know i have lots of friends and staff who wants to meet a lifetime partner some are trying to chat but they say this guy are not serious at all. My advice is dont date a girl who likes party or drinking go for someone who knows to value herself .okay.i hope this will help you guys choose the right partner.

  30. i must be the luckiest white man alive dating a Filipina, currently i cant be with her, owing to scam-demic 2020. she has never asked me for money, even though i`ve offered her some monetary assistance, but please be careful, supporting another man`s wife, you thought was your sweetheart .

  31. You can ABSOLUTELY 100% own property, ie house and land
    Simply form a corporation…60-40.
The Filipino signing MUST not know each other ….they resign as they sign , all very simple….its done all the time….when buying land there is knowledge required. And a formula ( ask me how,) there is Torrens title in the Philippines also….which is the ultimate best way eventually …..FACT

  32. The scenery n landscape is very beautiful. I even like the red color gates n fences. I live in Thailand and I’m suprise how nice everything looks and I think better than Thailand ,even cleaner .

  33. Interesting discussion Gio
My take on the new dating situation
is the the increase in single moms
and poor job prospects will lead
them to be nore likely to look
for an expat to help support their
kids. The local Filipino will be
unable or unwilling to help with
    the finances. This could lead
to more demand for expat boyfriends in a post covid reality

  34. In order for the divorce to be legally binding, it must be filed in court and accepted there. … Annulment is the only solution to divorce in the Philippines. An annulment acts as if a marriage has never taken place. A marriage may be terminated in this fashion if the marriage does not meet all of the legal requirements.

  35. Exceptions Regarding Divorce
There are exceptions to every rule. In the Philippines, marrying someone of another race or country may allow a divorce. Divorce can take place if the spouse from another country seeks it in their own home country. The foreigner’s country must accept the divorce for it to be valid. In the Family Code of the Philippines, paragraph 2 of Article 26 explains that legal marriages between a Filipino national and a non-native are genuinely recognized. A divorce must be accurately attained overseas by the non-native spouse which is the only way to allow remarriage.

In order for a Filipino to remarry, he or she must have been in a marriage that is recognized by Filipino law, involve a marriage between a Filipino and a non-native, and the non-native must have obtained a legally binding divorce while overseas. In order for the divorce to be legally binding, it must be filed in court and accepted there. If this process is followed, both parties are free to remarry.

Until recently, this applied only to mixed couples of Filipino marriages. The rule has broadened and now includes Filipinos who have become naturalized in another country and seek a legally binding divorce.

If the non-native has been approved a divorce, this does not mean that the Filipino has the right to enter into another marriage. There must be an acknowledgment of the divorce of a non-native from the Filipino courts for remarriage to be possible. After the Filipino courts have acknowledged the dissolution of marriage, only then can a Filipino citizen remarry.
    Annulment

Annulment is the only solution to divorce in the Philippines. An annulment acts as if a marriage has never taken place. A marriage may be terminated in this fashion if the marriage does not meet all of the legal requirements. There are only a few options that are available to Filipinos when seeking an annulment.

  36. Hello Gio. It’s me Joerg. Company Youtube Account. he he. I think there will not so many people going to the Philippines for holidays. The situation of unemployment is a worldwide issue. Most businesses are not doing well and people don’t like to spend money. I think it will take a long time to get back to “normal”. I think we have to deal with the new normal, what i call it.

  37. Gio….. How about doing a series of videos on yourself, your background, what state your from, interests, and how/why you moved to the Philippines 4 years ago? And, doing more videos on how living in the Philippines has changed you, enhanced some of the interests you had when you were living in the US, how living in the PH created new interests and lifestyle changes, etc….?

  38. Japan and Thailand are SHRINKING economies due to their low birth rates. Philippines with an average birth rate of 2.9 children per woman, is the primary catalyst to the ‘build build build’ and the POGO / BPO / all of the industries thrive with a robust workforce.
My opinion also is that the unchecked growth of squatter communities and slums in major metropolitan areas, is a much larger threat to public health and safety than any COVID19 related issues. To allow slums to grow with communities of squatters in numbers greater than 4 million in ONE SLUM in Manila, is a reflection of overall neglect of an under class of people that slipped thru the cracks. Let’s see where this population boom leads, hopefully the 1 million babies expected due to the quarantine will have a good life.

  39. Being i want to retire in philippines thought i would check out cupid philippines ..there are many words i would like to use but cant …is pathetic allowed ….to any person.thinking of traveling abroad no 1.priorety. Blog ecpats for 3 years as i did …👃thanks Gio and fogive me for mentioning filipina pea on your site .thumbs up pea

  40. Been living there for 4 years and you are blown away by the friendliness

Hmmmm still not occurred to you for the reasons for their so called friendliness

There is only one reason for their false friendliness

    Your money

    Very interesting

  41. The Filipina pea has some good advice on her you tube channel about how to protect yourself if you get married or want to buy land in the Philippines . I just subscribed to your channel today . Thanks Gio

  42. Thanks for the tour but the title of the video promised much more than delivered….It’s OK. No one really knows when and if the dating in the Philippines will be available again to foreigners. As for now – no forecast for the Philippines allowing visitors…..Seems to me we are at least 9 months to a year before travel can resume.

  43. Lived in the Philippines for years all different islands all over had my own motorcycle I loved Dumaguete only because you don’t have to wear a damn helmet way too hot . my favorite City davao . you have to wear a helmet there and Men is it ever hot. hope you are doing okay we are back in the US right now doing fine no lockdown.

  44. My favorite blogger, somthing to think about if Trump gets reelected he will eliminate social security tax and the fund will be done 2023.More imformation needed.
