  1. Thanks for the ride along Rod, I’ve driven through Consolacion a few times when traveling north of Cebu City. Let’s keep the faith and believe 2021 will be a better year for everyone. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Mask on and face shield? They really know how to destroy paradise don’t they Rod? They are trying very hard here in certain parts of America to get even crazier than there! NY & California want to lead the way. Thumbs up Rod.

  3. Happy New Year Rod! Sorry to pick you up on your spelling and pronunciation again, but its ConsolaCion, and they pronounce it in the Spanish way, not English consolation.

  4. Consolacion traffic sucks. I highly suggest Mandaue. It’s close to the airport. And from Mandaue you can easily go north, south, & the city.

  5. Always glad to hear you mention that the exchange rates fluctuate over time. I think a lot of future expats who have been making their mental plans/dreams about retiring there might be thinking they can count on a 50/$1 exchange rate for the future. I’ve been following the exchange rates since my first trip there in 2007 and always used a 45/$1 average rate for my mental planning from 2007 to 2016. In 2016 the rate went up and stayed there long enough that I changed my thinking to 50/$1 but realize that it can change at any time. Back in 2007 there were lots of guys complaining on forums about the 45/$1 rates because they had gotten used to a 55/$1 rate in the early 2000’s. I guy mentally making plans for a $1000/ month retirement really need to realize that exchange rate changes and inflation will effect their budget a lot.
