  2. Hey Gio nice see you interview Buddy.
Buddy is a good guy I’ve talked with him in many a chat room on different occasions.. I wish him well in Mexico…
    Hi Buddy como estas?

  3. The Tangerines are wonderful. Mexico does not have the cultural problems that The Philippines has. I speak Spanish fluently so I åm biased culturally. Not having Muslims in Mexico helps a lot.

  4. I had planned to go to Cambodia. I found out they were closing their borders the morning I was supposed to leave back in April. I have been in Mexico Since April 2.

  5. Great interview Gio and Buddy. Talked to buddy the other day and we were comparing the cost from Guadalajara and Cozumel where I am. I also was watching a tangerine travelers about Mexico before I got here. My heart is still the Philippines as is my girl so I’m heading that way as soon as they open!! For now its pretty sweet here and cheap to live!!

  6. Hi Gio & Buddy. Nah ill give it a miss. I can hop in my car and drive anywhere in the phils, I can communicate everywhere, hardly any crime,AVAILABLE women everywhere, peace, beaches and smiles. Expat world cup – Phils 1, Mexico 0

  7. You are a great interviewer Gio. You really get to the heart of what everyone wants to know. I just may go to mexico while waiting for the Philippines to open up. I live in Arizona so it will probably some place within driving distance like Ensenada….

  8. Nice video gio and buddy. I speak Spanish fluently but haven’t been to Mexico In over 7 years. I may consider Guadalajara. Is there a way to provide a link or lead to this ex pat group from buddy? It would be nice to meet up with some cool people while getting set up down there. Also they can use me for Spanish translation for any problems too.

  9. Great interview Gio, I enjoyed that, it was really interesting. Buddy is a nice guy and a good talker. I haven’t really thought about going to Mexico, but it’s nice to hear it’s an option. I’ll wait it out a bit longer and decide, things are pretty much back to normal in England now with the virus issue. From what I hear from my gf in the Philippines, I wouldn’t want to go there even if I could, with all the crazy restrictions.

  10. Mexico is way too dangerous! I have had very bad experiences there and I will never ever go back.. The only thing that ever happened to me in the Philippines is that I’ve had way too much fun! No comparison!! The PI rocks..

  11. I hope wherever Americans are they are safe but i always feel safer in the Philippines, i didn’t feel safe outside the resorts in Mexico but that’s me.

  12. Good video…I live in Cebu City even though we are in MGCQ but more restrictions have been added…I would like to know more about the restrictions in Mexico…Masks, face shields, bars open, and social distancing rules and dating sites……………

  13. Thanks to you both. I retired in Thailand about 12 years ago. I love SEAsia but if one day, when I am older, I may return to Canada to live and get free healthcare. Then 6 months in Mexico every year would be easier. No visa and short flight back to Canada.

  14. HI Gio ok some comments on mexico,, We start commenting that there are many parts of Mexico that depend on tourism and speak English everywhere … cancun //cozumel /women island/merida/ acapulco. Puerto Vallarta /I can still mention a lot of places where English is spoken… Rents depends on the price where you live. Food is super cheap almost everywhere … Women are not as easy, nothing compared as the Filipinos.. IT IS MY OPINION OF someone who has a MEXICAN daughter ….

  15. Thanks Gio enjoyed the video watched Ging last night interviewing a girl she went to high school with and just got through watching short providence girl and then clicked on your tab thanks again have a wonderful rest of your week I’d say you’re getting lonely ain’t you I know I would be because you two have been together through this whole mess and then you find yourself alone and it’s kind of like you’ve got to get used to being alone again cuz you’re used to talking to someone and then they’re not there and that’s kind of a shock to the system in a sense but she will be back if she’s not already take care and God bless

  16. I want to mention, I live in a studio in Colonia Americana, one of the hipper neighborhoods in GDL. You can find much cheaper accommodations elsewhere in the city, particularly if you are willing to furnish it yourself. I met an American lady who showed me a two bedroom in a poorer (but wonderful accepting and gracious people) for 2000 peso a month. If you have any questions post them here, I am happy to answer.

  17. Living in the Philippines sounds good however as we get older and health issues pop up, many American ex-pats would feel much better being closer to the United States in the event their medical conditions worsen. I would live in the Philippines in a heartbeat… however my heart says….” wait a second “ ! LOL..

  18. Looking good, Buddy! Nice to put a face/personality to the name. Best of luck to you. Maybe our paths will cross sometime. I hope to be in SE Asia someday permanently

  19. Just got back from Cancun myself Sunday. Spent the month of August in an Air BnB in Cancun. Thinking of heading back later in the year. I asked for 30 day and got 180 visa. Cancun was a little big for me. If/when I go back, I will try a smaller town like Puerto Morelos.

  20. Great video. I wonder when he was in Newfoundland. I was there with my father in the air force in 1962 and 1963. 1st grade in stephenville Newfoundland. Harmon air force base.

  21. Thanks gentlemen. Buddy, come back in a few months and give us a better cost of living estimate, Let us know what the 6 month visa re-admittance problem is that you didn’t want to talk about, give us a dating update, and let us know if you’ve bought a microwave yet😎

  22. Hi Geo have you ever used nomad insurance. And if so did they reimburse you for any money you laid out. Al so have you heard other people’s experience with this insurance company

  23. I am very surprised to hear that Buddy decided to move there without ever having visited before. My personal opinion is that everyone should visit a place at least once or twice before they decided to actually MOVE there. I am fortunate in that I have visited nearly 50 countries on six continents in the past 30 years (including most of the countries in Asia), many of those more than once, so I have some idea of what to anticipate and what to look for in a place to live. I have visited the Philippines 15 times since 2016, so I think I have a pretty good understanding as to what I am getting into choosing the Philippines as a place to retire. Just waiting until I can actually go there again! I can retire anytime now, just working here in USA until the Philippines re-opens. Bags are at least partially packed and I am ready to go! Great interview and video!
