  1. Really liked the beginning and made me think of a quote, or its called a poem from Chief Tecumseh, give me some perspective at least, thought Id drop it on ya or anyone else who may read this.
“So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.”
    ~ Chief Tecumseh”

  2. Great video chuck, i should of been in buriram just now with family for songkran but all cancelled, me and my wife are both key workers in uk but no masks, gloves and goggles sure making me wonder why we bother staying here, would come stay in a heartbeat but saving for that time as you talked about.

  3. a lot will be learned and reflected upon as this time passes humans will continue right, where they left off with renewed vigor into capitalism in a short amount of time the virus, will fade into a nostalgic memory

  4. The problem with a lot of people is they buy that new car, or new home, or move to a different area or country making them happy until the newness wears off and they have to deal with the same thing that they always deal with. Themselves.

  5. G’day Chuck,
    Greetings from Yeppoon, QLD, Aust.

When we were kids and got sty’s in the eyes the home remedy in the day was to bathe the eye in luke warm water with a little salt added. Worked like a treat.(don’t over do the salt)
Enjoy your vids, keep them coming. Stay safe

  6. Maybe coming to sit around the table to eat will be a normal thing to do again. Just think 350 million families putting down there phones and other things and sitting down around a table and eating and enjoying each others company now that is a positive change for the better!

  7. Good idea not to show all the family eating – the curtain twitchers would have the cop’s around in an instant – why antagonize an already difficult situation.
    Atb…Ezz.👍

  8. Next year. That’s why my Wife wants so bad to take two weeks at the Thai Meditation Retreat in the Mountains at Pai. I’m so tired. I’m so prepped. Also, Medication, ammo and food. I’ve not. Been out in two weeks. I’m beginning to think
Am I being scammed. I’m on Locked Down. By my Government. For my protection. Lol. At least my Wife loves cooking. I always say since I was a Boy Scout . On your Death Bed It does not matters What anyone thinks. It matters how you think you lived a Good Life and what others think. Chuck my wife is waiting for that cooking video on French Croissants.

  9. Good Thought !!!! You’re right Chuck. All we really need is PEACE and HAPINESS. We can do that with just basic things and resources without having to fight our life through stress. Be kind, Be nice, be friendly and be cheerful to others.

  10. Nice video Chuck. Yes its a good time to embrace whats important or change what isn’t important. Family and God do it for me.Christians look foward to more beyond this life.

  11. Alan Jackson song, “The Older I Get”. “ you only get a minute, you better live while your in it, because its gone in a blink”. Sums it up for this old fart.

  12. It is about a healthy life.People need to take responsibility for what they eat as part of that. How many New Yorkers who have died to date due to “covid” was obese or had diabetes or had heart disease because of the amount of junk food that is consumed there?

  13. Heads up again young man.. Styes are not caused by feas flying in your eyes.. Styes are caused by staphyloccal bacteria.. This bacteria is most commonly found in one’s nose and transferred to the eye.. Regards

  14. Chuck, how has Thailand managed to keep the number of virus cases/deaths so low? Do you think it’s a lack of wide scale testing or is the Thai government just that much smarter than those in charge here in the states?

  15. Hi Chuck. What I love when I lived in Thailand is that life is 24 hours a day in Pattaya. I can walk to everything. If I want to fish at the night market at 3am, then I just walk 2 blocks. If I want fun, I walk just outside of my condo. If I want to travel and learn about ancient history I have 1000s of places to go and when I get there there is a cheap hotel. No Worries. Unless you goto Ko Somet and its buffalo day, then your screwed for a hotel. But the 7-11 accommodated us by clearing a storage room and renting it for us(That’s True Thailand Generosity). Strange, but All I had to do is walk out and I was in the 7-11, very convenient. I don’t have the choice to go back to Thailand now, but soon Ill be home. And I call Thailand home. Great talk.

  16. Where we live we in Australia we are in the middle of a 90 day forced home detention (who knows could be more). It’s hard to remain positive when they are also saying our previous freedoms (as we knew them) may never return to what they were. I think a lot of Australians will be looking to become expats (in countries like Thailand) once overseas travel is allowed again. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/apr/02/the-90-day-lockdown-nsw-police-can-enforce-home-isolation-until-at-least-end-of-june

  17. I don’t disagree with anything said in the start of video, but aren’t you retired with a steady source of income?

I’m really happy for you, but many people aren’t in the same position so they have nowhere near the same level of choice as they have to work.

If your message was for retirees only, fair enough, but many people just don’t have the kind of freedom you do.

  18. Stye – I used to get those a lot. A tear duct gets blocked from dirt and oil. Use a hot wash cloth on it throughout the day…like once an hour. It will be gone in a few days.

  19. I have no fear. My plans are on hold right now, but this shit don’t change my reality.I love myself and my family, I,m at peace. Nobody can bring me down.

  20. love this video Chuck…but most of the US is still working…I am a essential and have to because the Government said I have to…there is no freedom in the world…I found this out during this…God Bless

  21. One aspect to the world being a better place after all this passes is that I think globally we are all, for the first time in a very very long time, in this together and total strangers on social media are offering help to those in need – both mentally and physically. It has helped bring out the best in many while others are just simply not happy with who they are and are now just realising it.

  22. No RERUN its the real thing so enjoy when you can ,lots of people have it very hard ,your living the life so it should be,your 51 ile swap ime 72 ha ha ha ,dreat videos thank you .

  23. Unfortunately chuck some of the still have to work 12 hour shifts six days a week ,and it’s not an invisible thing to some of us on the front line watching the older patients die with no one but us to hold there hand . Cannot wait to retire lol

  24. Technically Thailand could be considered a first world nation . First world meant the nations allied against communism during the Cold War. Second world were the communist block. Third world meant neutrality. That eventually became synonymous with undeveloped nations.

  25. Thanks for the great video. Most people won’t understand that they are spinning on a hamster wheel until they drop dead…. great perspective on life, happiness and planning your route.

  26. Buddha View,, happy you made it there Khun Chuck,, what where your thoughts. Any how I look forward to my next trip and wont take it for granted.. Do a lttle research on Tour Down Under Bike tour, Adealide and surround areas,, the general public can ride some very picturesque landscapes.. Chuch I have friends from France and New York come every year. Goes for around 10 days.

  27. WHAT’S WITH THE ATTEMPT AT SUBLIMINAL SUBSCRIBING? LOL
WASH YOUR DAM HANDS IN THE MORNING AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND DONT TOUCH YOUR EYE TO GET RID OF THAT STYE. SCRATCHING YOUR BALLS THEN RUBBING YOUR EYE = STYE

  28. Chuck-I see you’re still battling this stye. The best thing is to try and get that to drain well. You want to take a small dish towel (clean of course!), dampen it, and heat it up in the microwave. Make sure it’s hot enough for you to take but not burn yourself. Hold it gently on the stye. Repeat this several times a day and you’ll see the stye will drain and the inflammation go down!

  29. When I read the title I was like hey that’s lyrics of a Tool song and then holy $hi+ it was your intro song, I love the song “Right in Two”, we are some silly monkeys aren’t we, as much as we have evolved we have equally stayed the same. I’m trying to make the best of it like I have for a very long time, I refuse to let others fears dictate my life, whether if it’s the people that try to protect us from every little scrape or the end of the world preppers, to me they are both fear mongers, I try to be responsible for my actions and understand the consequences of such. Enjoyed listening to your philosophical thoughts on life, as I’ve said before “we are very different but very much the same in many ways”. Many blessings to you, Paige and family 🙏🏼
    Cheers 🥃🍻🥃🍻🥃🍻

  30. It is all about ‘happiness’; making other people happy because we know that it is not possible to be happy if those around you don’t want to please you.

  31. Makes no sense to me , 47 already sick people die here, but 20 000 in many European countries, more than 100000 people at least in Europe. Looks like this country is just copying what western governments are doing to deal with their huge death rate. So many are suffering here, but it’s not from the virus.

  32. Inspiring Vlog. I have similar thoughts. I also want to end up fulltime in Thailand. (I live in Sydney) I am now constructing my life to ensure this evolves into fruition. Keep up the good work. I love watching your videos. I have been in Thailand for 1 week every 5-6 weeks for 5 years now. This is the longest time I have been away. I also don’t know when we will be opening our international borders. Am really missing Thailand. Your videos a short term fix for now.

  33. Thank you for sending me the video that had a view of your backyard. As always your video today was fantastic.I feel privileged that we can experience your everyday life and you perspective on life. The more I watch these videos the more I want more.Thank you for all your hard work

  34. Assuming the health system is not overwhelmed, the mortality rate is about the same at the end of the day. One study in Netherlands after testing 10,000 blood donors (risk of self-sorting sample) was that the actual number of people that had developed antibodies from the virus was about 17 times higher than confirmed cases. In the end the mortality rate is likely largely a factor of lack of testing people who where either not severe symptoms or asymptomatic. Netherlands is probably lower, since I suspect their comorbidity (diabetes, hypertension) is lower than average being that they would be in better shape (a lot of people commute using bicycles and are generally more fit). The fact that they spend more time outside (less likely to be Vitamin D deficient = better immune response), and have as high comorbidity would give them a lower mortality rate. So in the Netherlands case the confirmed deaths / confirmed cases (CFR – Case Fatality Rate) would be 11.39% but the CFR based on the antibody testing would indicate the real mortality rate for the Netherlands is 0.67% (which might be one of the best case scenarios). I also suspect their is a factor with countries that are more an outdoor lifestyle (outdoors is better for resisting the virus due to many factors like air circulation; UV light reducing the virus lifespan on surfaces not shaded) leads to a more resistant environment (i.e. Singapore has great response with testing/tracking/tracing and while it is a tropical country most people avoid the outdoors and run from one air conditioned area to another – so they would be more susceptible (it got into the worker dormitories for work-pass holders which are 6 beds and 20% common area dormitories – so that is why you see a mini-explosion but I expect them to control it like South Korea after a bit). End of the day I think you will find that the actual mortality rate for pretty much all countries will fall in something like a 0.6% to 1.6% range. The factor to keeping this mortality rate rather low is to keep the flow of patients with severe symptoms less than the red-line of where the health system is completely overwhelmed and you have to start implementing cutoff lines for access to life-saving intervention.

  35. Hello Chuck and Paige, what’s with the subliminal SUBSCRIBE (15:20) ???
I do believe that people are, evaluating their lives, they are saying, swapping life hours for $ was undervalued and when things start up again, people are going to want more for their precious life hours, as it’s a withdrawal account only. So if you don’t want to fall by the wayside you need to “Improvise, Adapt, Overcome” You can be excited or fearful, but the future will be what it will be, “accept what is and look for the positive”
All the best another good human vlog, with regard to Soi Mafia, “It’s always easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is for permission.

  36. look, how many Thai people died last year around this time , it feel like the virus saved more lives in Thailand this year then all the previous years past around this time, from April 11th, to the 20th ) look it up!

  37. Chuck. I really enjoy your perspective on life in general. I have found that I also have grown to love life more in the past few years. I sometimes wonder what our lives would be like if we knew what we know now when we were young. Stay safe.

  38. I agree with shredding the papaya by knife. I have been using the shredding tool for a long time but have gone back to the old fashion way with the knife. It is cruncher. By the way, is it durian season yet?

  39. HEY CHUCK AND PAIGE, NICE LOOKING BIKE AT THE BEGINNING. ENJOYED THE BIKE RIDE AROUND TOWN, THAT’S ALWAYS NICE. I REALLY ENJOYED IT.

ABOUT YOUR EYE. WHEN I WAS YOUNG MY MOM HAD AN EYE GLASS. IT WAS A GLASS DEVICE THAT WOULD LET YOU PUT WATER IN IT AND IT WAS SHAPED LIKE AN EYE. YOU COULD DO THE SAME THING WITH A SHOT GLASS. IF YOU HAD SOMETHING IN YOUR EYE THEY WOULD PUT SOME WATER IN THE EYE GLASS AND BOW YOUR HEAD DOWN AND PUT THE EYE GLASS ON YOUR EYE AND TILT YOUR HEAD BACK. OPEN UP YOUR EYE AND BLINK A FEW TIMES. WHATEVER WAS IN YOUR EYE WOULD BE WASHED OUT. I CAN REMEMBER USING IT AS A KID. LIVING IN THE COUNTRY YOU WERE BOUND TO GET SOMETHING IN YOUR EYE ONCE IN A WHILE.

I NOTICED YOUR MOTHER IN LAW MAKES THE PAPAYA SALAD A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN THEY DO IN KORAT. I’M SURE IT’S A LOCAL THING LIKE MOST OF THAILAND.

STAY SAFE MY FRIEND, SAY HI TO EVERYONE THERE. SEE YOU NEXT TIME.

  40. chuck don’t let the numbers fool you. People keep saying the USA has the 3rd most cov19 deaths.. But when you look at the reality of it, it breaks down to this: Italy, Spain (top 2), Franc, United Kingdom, Germany all fit into the USA with room for a few more countries, and their combined population is about 320 million, the same as the USA.. but they have a combined death rate of 55,000 where the US is at 20,600 as of 16 April 2020.

Your mindset that this is just another virus doing what virus’s do, – take out the weak, culling the herd, only the strong survive.. we loose more to diabetes, heart disease and other things.. The scary thing about this one is how fast it moved.. Next time we will be better prepared.

  41. I was on my way to Thailand on the 15 of march, and visit friends in Isan/At samat and travel around för 2 month. But i canceled the trip in the last minute. But I think now 1 month later. that it´s bigger change to get Corona in Sweden then in ant other place on earth.

  42. Ok.. great video my compadre. So, you are getting more advise on the eye issue. Here’s one you might not have seen or agree with.. it’s what I have done and not fir everyone… like you said, a style is like a pimple on the eye lid and just like a pimple, if I can get at it, I pull it apart so that it pops abs drains. Make sure I get the core out and clean and add the ointment… done in a day or so… heals quickly. That’s just me, don’t try this at home as may cause further infection. :-))

  43. This is really great to hear those sentences …. during this time. No pollution…. No traffic…. No planes.
You got make plan.👍my software contract ends April 30th… I am preparing to start posting videos on my YouTube channel…

  44. Ok… great video on thinking. And I’ve learned “happiness “ is a by product of right living. To thine own self be true. I agree, it is all about me….. now let’s talk a little more about ME!! HaHa. And finally (no pun intended) about death……. when I go, I want to go quietly in my sleep, just like my Grandfather did… not like the 3 other passengers in the car with him!!!! 🙂

  45. Chuck, I have heard you talk about this before. To just be happy in this life. But really; if you found yourself not happy with Paige and Soi Mafia, you would just leave? and don’t look back, because your happiness is all that matters. Yes?
