  2. Great news. Wish both of you the best, health and joy. I cough for 1.5 years and still coughing. That time I came from Philippines and covid announcement came out two weeks after I left Philippines. Still coughing. Runny nose like hell. And true the room I was so contaminated. My cough was due to the room not covid literally. indeed in the Philippines people go healthy to hospital or those type of hotel but they go out dead. They really do not know what they are doing. From top officials to the bottom.

  3. It’s the way the world is right now Reekay mate; you were lucky to make it to California!
Not exactly what we think.of room service mate!
I cannot believe that they did not give you more information and medical assistance. Diabolical!

  4. I can’t help but think that President Duterte is selling out to China. I certainly believe that he is in bed with the red communist country!!

  5. With the amplification used in the bogus PCR test anyone who has ever been sick with the flu or a common cold will test positive. The moment you accept the face diaper and pretend there is a pandemic 😷 you have to accept all the other BS they throw at you

  6. Man that is messed up! I would have probably just left to the airport and just paid the rapid test, and jumped on the plane. This covid is a never-ending money scam!

  7. I’m glad that your mom is ok and so are you after that incredible mind fck. But it’s not uncommon here. Just apply for an ACR card. Covid has given the tyrants more power over us and more circus hoops to put the plebe through. Can you give us some idea about how it is in the states now?

  8. OMFG Reekay! I can’t believe what you had to go through, OMG! I had to stop the video at the 50:06 mark out of the 1:24:17 because I got so angry about what you are going through, without being conscious of it, I threw my plastic water bottle at my TV in frustration. Holy sh*t man! I am so sorry for what they put you through trying to get to your mom. Anyway, going back to resume watching the rest of the video. Man oh man!

  9. Face disappearing is first sign of SERIOUS covid lol sounds like a right nightmare glad you got the hell out of there and back to your mom’s,glad to hear she’s well and on the mend that’s the main thing.

  10. False-positive? Who made the interpretation? What was the ct value of cycles used for testing you? The 1993 Nobel Prize winner for chemistry and inventor of the PCR test Kary Mullis stated that the PCR test is not designed for diagnosing a virus. It was made for lab use. You can set the PCR Test CT value at 50-60 and a stone will test positive. Unfortunately, you were dealing with robot-like order takers who are not the brightest bulbs in the light socket nor medical professionals. It’s a scam. And those people you were dealing with are financially desperate participants and don’t question anything they’re told to do. Sounds like you got sick staying in their s-hole hotel with the s-hole aircon. Look at the President and look at his media relations spokesman and there is your answer.

  11. Glad you’re okay but geesh what a crazy frustrating ordeal that was! I would not be writing some nice reviews on that hotel that basically scammed you and lied. Unorganized chaos and you have to pay every dime for it

  12. You scared me to go back there. I m waiting for my visa. Oh boy. Hahaha. I swear they do not know what they are doing rather than overacting in all things. I guess is not my destiny to meet you in person. Last time I came Dumaguete you were in Vietnam. this time you are in America

  13. What a story man. Worthy of a bestseller book for imagination. Sadly, after knowing the country and people you are discribing… I know you did not have to use imagination

  14. Sorry about your ideal. I’m assuming you took a PRC test which is a joke. The guy who invented the test said not to use it for Covid. The test has a 90 percent false positive rate, they cycle the test so much your bound to test positive. I wanted to see my mother this year also, but I will not take that test.

  15. Henry your a better man than me ! I was losing my mind just listening to your ordeal. I have to make the trip next July, hopefully Covid will be a bad memory by then.

  16. Reekay am so sorry you went through all that ordeal to get out of Philippines .You do look well and healthy in this video. May God continue to give you and your Mom ……lots of health peace love and happiness. Enjoy and cherish every second with your beautiful Mom. Please say hi to her for me 😊

  17. Wow, what an ordeal….that’s quite a story, I’m glad your doing well now, but I wonder, was that covid test you got in the Philippines really positive? We’re planning on going back in mid October, but I am in a different situation then you, I am married to a filipina, with a dual citizenship.

  18. What a hell of a time dude! Broken boilers are BS. They’re trying to save money. Why don’t they use tankless heaters like they do in Thailand? 😒

  19. When I’m listening to your nightmare of an experience here in the Philippines, I can literally feel your pain knowing how difficult it can be dealing with the different agencies here and the repetitive robotic responses you get from so many. Im glad you made it through Henry, enjoy every second with your mom. I know you know it was entirely worth it.🙏🏻

  20. This co-fid farce is nothing about a fire-us — it’s about keeping people at home! I’m thinking retire Latin America instead of all the SE Asian crap their leaders are imposing on travellers.

  21. i think the A/C had alot of germs they never clean them i had to ask for one of my rooms in Cebu to clean the A/C unit because you were ok before that hotel room !!! still waiting for the government to let us travel to Cebu its been 2 years since we have been there

  22. Love how he says ‘what’s gonna go wrong today’? I went through something similar just getting from iloilo to cebu last November but nothing like this scale of stupidity.

  23. After 17 minutes of this video, I heard enough. My return to the Philippines is in jeopardy. It’s time to give other countries in the region a look.

  24. Hopefully you’ll get the covid 19 vaccine in California.. But I wonder why you get the covid in the Philippines in the first place and you become positive from the test?

  25. OMG, what a s**t show, if it wasn’t for the english speaking wonderful women we would never put up with it. I’m in Alaska waiting to get back to Bohol, I came back last July when it was pretty easy to get out to take care of some business here. If I can’t get back to Bohol before winter I will go to a country that is warm and cheap, hoping it’s Vietnam. Glad your with your mom, enjoy your time and be safe.

  26. Thanks for sharing, I just got back from Phillipines to Istanbul Turkey on 18th March I was praying the whole time until my Qatar Airways flight took off 😊🙏

  27. Reekay I am so so sorry to hear what you went through. Have you figured out how much money this ordeal cost you? Ha, you probably don’t want to think about it…….

  28. So did you have Covid or you’re not 100% sure? I would have been mad as hell on the first cancelation and all the run around you had to do, it’s bad to have to deal with professionals that have no clue about what they should know. Glad you finally made it to CA.

  29. I have a friend that also lost a lot of weight when he had covid, it’s a rough illness when you get it bad. I hope you didn’t spread it to your family and friends or your girl’s province.

  30. Man this Covid is BS they could give you this test and say u have it and there is nothing wrong with you a person is supposed to be sick when there is a positive test ok so I don’t believe all this covid stuff they are lying to us to control us

  31. What a nightmare! Glad you made it out alive. I’ve been to Mexico twice and Colombia once during the pandemic without any problems. This type of insanity is only going to drive expats further away. Your video is a cautionary tale and also teaches people to have patience and keep their eye on the prize when traveling. Thanks for sharing your ordeal and welcome home!

  32. Glad it’s over.
In hindsight, do you think you could have greased palms to simply get it done?
“If you can get me on this flight, you get 5000p …” kind of incentive. Obviously can’t get through security, but for admin/clerical pieces…

  33. I feel for you man and can relate to the frustration you experienced. However, I’m sure you could have eliminated all that plus the loss of time and money if as soon as you received that first email went and got another test, due to the fact the first test was a false-positive.

  34. Hello Henry,
I am glad you had made it through that nightmare in one piece!
I am also happy to see you give your dear mother a hug!!
I watched all this video and really felt the unbelievable hard times that you experienced!! Sorry friend!

  35. I thinking, if I need to get tested for some reason…. I’ll try to get tested 3 times at separate facilities, so if one comes back positive and 2 negative…

  36. What a situation. Cant imagine going through this. Who is in charge here? Hope you now will get vaccine in US. I am done with Moderna. No problems. Welcome back.

  37. What a crazy story! When it came to the repeated hot water issues I couldn’t help but laugh, sorry! But I guess in retrospect you can too now.
Regarding your terrible cough sure it could’ve been a bronchitis or something that you caught in that facility. But since you had a positive pcr test before I’d rather go with the suspicion that you were infected indeed and that the symptoms just started that morning. Since the average incubation time is given as 5-6 days it’s highly unlikely that it developed over night. You should do an anti-body test to find out if it was Covid or not because if it was the certificate showing that will serve as an entry key similar to a negative test result or a vaccination for the next 6 months at least. The philippino certificate might suffice but I personally would like to know for sure and if you plan to get vaccinated you might be able to wait until fall then and maybe get already an updated shot version. And if covid gets confirmed I recommend you to get a lung ct soon. Wishing you to spend great quality time with your family for the rest of the year! And hey, how’s about some summer vacation in Europe? ;)))

  38. Reekay what an experience … just to check if you were really positive have antibody test. I’m not expert .. I have friend who was tested positive in Cebu and have the same kind of symptoms as yours. His antibodies result was 36 … yesterday 63 days later had another test which is now down to 9 ..I’m not an expert… by doing this it might provide truth to the experience were you really positive.. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/lab/resources/antibody-tests.html

  39. Persistent cough, headache, body ache, fatigue, ….classic covid symptoms, the incubation period is longer than one day so that’s not from the AC, sounds like they isolated you just in time.

  40. Thank you Reekay – you are a true blessing to all of us. All the credit goes to you and your mom (for raising you to be the helpful gentleman that you are). Your news, knowledge and information is a real blessing.

  41. Sounds like a nightmare Henry. Firstly, its good you are back in the US in one piece AND your dear mum is much better. The result of your virus test is a bit of a mystery, it might be worth it to have another test in the US to see what it reveals…. whether you actually had the virus. You have more patience than me …. even though I had to go through a few hoops to get back from Cebu a few months back. Take care and enjoy your time.

  42. This thing should be report to the government or go to tulfo, he will help you with all your bad experience and get the money you lost from this covid scam

  43. “He who endures triumphs.” This is epic and surreal, worthy of a novella except it’s a true story. You lived my nightmare. Sorry for your troubles. I’m going to renew my Cambodia retirement visa for another year.

  44. Yea, but other than that Mrs. Lincoln how did you like the play?……………If it wasn’t for bad luck you wouldn’t have any luck at all.

  45. Dude… You definitely deserve the “process maze award”. I would have lost my s**t in the ambulance. Glad your mom is good. Be safe..

  46. It appears you had Covid. Positive, fatigue, and the notorious dry cough. I feel for you as it was the worst possible timing. The good part is it’s over now. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

  47. WOW! For a seasoned veteran of Philippines travel, you fell down a rabbit hole for sure. The main thing is you are at home safe, with your mom, and she is so happy to see you. Enjoy your stay, let’s do lunch someday, take care.

  48. Holy crap. I would have been livid! I woulda took it outta someone’s a$$. You’re a better man than I am. Best of luck to you and your mom. I’m seriously wondering if I ever wanna go back to the Ph.

  49. Unfortunatly yours is the uncommon one. My gf is trying to fly here now. 4 tests. 1pos8tive, 1 inconclusive and 2 negative. Too bad the neg ones were to get her out of lockup not for pre flight. 5th test this weekend

  50. What a journey! Glad you made it. So much to even reply to. Thanks for the video and what to avoid. Let’s hope the Philippines reopens very soon

  51. You did a great job turning a miserable experience to a great video. When I studied medicine years ago I was taught that if some one has an abnormal the first thing you should do is to get the test dune again. The chance of a lab error is created than the chance of having the problem tested for. I plan on traveling to the Philippines with my wife in a couple of months. My biggest fear is that if we where to change planes in a different country they could find a not perfect test. Then we would be stuck in a strang land. It seems like the whole testing thing is a big scam. A bad AC unit will make you sick.

  52. Seriously, send a transcript of this to the Atlantic Monthly or some travel magazine. It will be most helpful for someone caught in this merry-go-round

  53. Son, you got bitten by old Murphy’s law bad on this trip. I think I would have made a dry run to the airport a few days before to make sure I could fly with the paperwork I had. You assumed too much on that one and it bit you hard.

  54. This is so orwellian. Of course they didn’t contact you after you got to the code compliant hotel. They were just waiting for you to die there.😕

  55. I’m glad you are back and healthy again; this story makes me think about the general health care situation in the Philippines and how difficult life can be in a not organized country. I guess I will need to chose between a cushy healthy life style in the west (ALONE) or a more risky environment but with some female company .

  56. I am happy your mom is doing well now. I see where you made your mistake though. You should have told them please I don’t want to leave the Philippines. Then they would have gotten you out as fast as possible, then. Lol, Wait a while please sir.

  57. In hindsight, do you think that the initial test result was a false positive ?
I had Covid-19 in February, 2020. The symptoms were 2 weeks of coughing, and 1 night of fever.

  58. That’s so crazy. You know.. another Vlogger.. Marker 44 had a positive test result for him and his wife and kid. And they all were perfectly healthy. Go figure. I kinda seems like a scam to book hotels so they can make some extra money… I hope not.. but well.. just ridiculous. I hope that doesn’t happen to me. They .. (Marker 44) had to go to get a written letter from a doctor that they were covid free and were able to travel. cost.. i think like 2,500 pesos.. something like that… And they had NO symptoms. crazy.. well, enjoy Wahoo’s fish taco! Calif summers are great in SoCal! I”m from Oceanside.. btw.

  59. You lost 23 lbs of weight (210 – 187), but this may be the second good result of the ordeal, the other being the explanation of the bewildering process to others.

  60. Sorry to hear about your ordeal with the whole trip. However, do not so quickly blame the ”Covid compliable hotel” for your illness. It takes typically 4-5 days from infection to symptoms, not just one night stay in a hotel. The timing does not fit for you to have it contracted there. I do understand the airline’s perspective of trying to protect other passengers and staff from potential Covid cases. Myself I tested Covid positive with no symptoms. These came however about 10 hours after I got the test result. But all this does not excuse the chaotic misinformation you got all the time. Good you are better now!

  61. Do you think you really had Covid? Or false positive. Several times while visiting the Philippines, before I came here to live, and before Covid, I would get a bad dry cough that would last for about 6 weeks. No other symptoms. I thought it was mold in the hotel rooms. When I came here to live I rented an apartment. No hotel rooms and no dry cough. You may not have had Covid at all. And your cough was due to mold in that Covid compliant hotel room.

  62. This sort of nightmare is absolutely predictable everytime “the masses” are stampeded into some hysteria and give up their freedoms to some self proclaimed mastermind who professes to have the solution to said hysteria. The sheple never learn.

  63. You were not fine when you went into the Covid hotel. You were positive for Covid. That is why you became sick. You had no symptoms until you did.

  64. Well done getting home. Trying to get there to see my girlfriend. Looks like a massive task getting there at the moment and when successful even harder maybe leaving.

  65. Sounds like it was not really the covid results that mattered, but the whole fractured protocol that followed. Better look into to getting vaccinated while here in the states

  66. wow what a nightmare you had to go thru. Glad you made it home. Back in 2006 i believe there was the bird flue going around and i was in Surigao. i was not feeling good so i went to the hospital there with a slight fever. They put me in a room and said i would have to quarantine for a week. Then they send the maintenance guy to my room and i saw him taking the door knob and reversing it so that the key part would be in my room and i would not be able to open it if the door was closed. i told the i would kick the door down if they did that so they left it alone and as it was. What’s funny i volunteered to stay there. when i was going i even had to pay before they would let me go. Everything there is slow and unorganized but i still had a nice time. well my sons mother is a whole other story and nightmare. Im back in Cali now and happy taking care of my son.

  67. This is something else. With this level of concern in PH I would be greatly surprised if they open to any type of tourism until the middle of next year

  68. Now you see why I hate to travel. The stress is real man. I feel it listening to this all the way with every word. But you can’t wait to get back to Cebu huh huh?? If it was me I would have a hard time to get myself to step foot on a flight to anywhere.

  69. Glad you finally overcame all those obstacles, to get back to see your Mum. Dose not look like I will get back to visit the Philippines this year.

  70. Reekay, Bing and I escaped Cebu in March of last year just before the lockdown. Now, she is stuck here but better than us there, given the circumstances!
A good book, “From Barbarians to Beaurucrats”, written a few years back explains the cycles of life.
Our world is now in the beauruecratic stage with Covid playing a big role in turning that page worldwide.
Thank God most of the Philippine people are as wonderful as they are amid their own victimization of a system too bureaucratic to be managed effectively!
We’re both happy you made it back home and that your mother and true love are ok!
Peace to you and a happy year ahead!😇

  71. Philippine professionalism at it’s worst as usual. I could not retire there as the frustrations and lack of common sense outweigh the positives. Well my horrible experience at Manila airport pales compared to this.
I would have snapped in that hotel!! The Philippines should be exposed to everyone for it’s limited backwards thinking, only then can there be meaningful change.

  72. Typical government bureaucracies….everywhere!
I would have taken names, employee numbers, ask for the supervisor…all the way up the chain!
This is what I do in every BS situation w/ government and corporations….and you would be surprised how effective it is.
And, ask for the name of the head of the govt.
bureaucracy or president of the company….THAT gets there attention!!!

Just be calm and get that information (emploee names & numbers) and work your way up the chain….eventually asking for the name, ph. number, & address of the president.
This approach has been very successful for me in the past….honestly!

  73. i had to say many times, oh My god, then i had to laugh,, not in a bad way, but with what a crazy Ordeal ,,,,,,,,,you were a monster in another world, they treated you like a foreign super insect,,,,,i cant believe this happened to you, Phils is a nutty place of inconvenience , super inefficiency and misinformation, i havent heard anyone go through this experience except at the start of all this crisis . But why didnt you ask more details,,,, you said they didnt tell you anything , ASK ,,,,,,,,,,,

  74. So the authorities there allowed you to fly just because you served 10 days in a isolation hotel and you were clearly still coughing and no doctor checked you out?Am I missing something?

  75. Man thats really bad, wait im making my plans to leave Cebu city in Oct glad to hear your story and i will use the link about the covid test.good morning to you

  76. Damn Reekay you really did go through hell. Glad you were able to make it out. I think the aircon unit in the hotel room had to be the source of your cough. Good thing your mom recovered as well. Also especially thanks for sharing this information will be helpful for anyone else in your situation. Take care of yourself.

  77. Wow Reekay, what an ordeal, apparently you had a ton of patience to go through all that, shall we say “patience is a virtue” but at least you knew what to do when the going got tough, so Orville got to Jamaica finally, My ticket to Jamaica got cancelled twice as I was supposed to go in March then May, now I have two vouchers, good for one year and still don’t know when I can travel as I’m living in Sweden now and the US has banned passengers from EU countries from entering never mind if you’re just having a layover. This covid-19 thing is just complete mess as there are different regulations for different countries. I’ll just have to wait and hope things will get better.
Glad to know you finally got home and feeling much better after all you went through. Do you think your cough was a result of covid-19? Anyway all the best to you and your Mom, I’m sure the time spent together will be quality time

  78. I’m glad your mom is doing well. Kong vs Godzilla was actually pretty good wasn’t it? I thought they did a good job including the cheesey acting from the originals.

  79. What a NIGHTMARE. There is really something wrong with the Philippines way of doing things. There is no coordination and no straight answers and information. It was the same way when I went to the Los Angeles Philippine Embassy. The Filipino workers there are so slow and they do not give you straight answers or give you information that can help you. They do not talk to each other or coordination. Even though they are work together and just next to each other.

  80. I’ve had 9 of them when I return from the Phillipines last year . Thier always negative. . I had one last month. It was negative toooo

  81. I had a persistent cough from December 2019 in the Philippines. I got pneumonia after that but that cough never went away. It only started getting better about February 2021.

  82. Dear oh dear, what a nightmare, I must admit you handled it a lot better than I would have. I know how frustrating it can be there at times, but that was unbelievable. I wonder if the original test was even one of the many false positives. I’m glad that you are finally back with your mom, and that she’s doing great now. Cherish the time with her Henry, you and Vi will have many years together soon, time goes fast. Thanks for the update of your experience, enjoy your time there.

  83. As the song goes….”its all about the money money money”…that is some ordeal, but its just what you would expect from the Philippines. do the bear minimums and nothing more.

  84. Holy cow! I am so sorry you had to go through that. An absolute nightmare. Its funny nobody had an answer to your question until you greased their palms….

  85. With all of the travel woes, did you have a moment to worry about the possible consequences of having covid-19? I would have been scared out of my wits!

  86. You should get an antibody test in California to see if You had covid My guess is You had it and didn’t get it from Your room. Covid symptoms often don’t begin until 3-5 days after getting the virus Virus can still be transmitted to someone else even when you are in the asymptomatic phase

  87. WoooooooW- Your very fortunate to be wealthy- the average “Joe” would have been screwed many weeks ago. But- that is life in The Philippines. I had to pay for 5 flights out of there and still ended-up having to pay for a “Sweeper” flight to get out of there. It took them(the airlines) atleast 6 months to refund my monies and one airline(anonymous) just gave me a voucher- which I can not use at this point in time due to the borders being closed. “A Nightmare on Magsaysay Blvd”!!!! GOD bless you and your family- PEACE and prayers for all.

  88. Welcome back. Perhaps, in retrospect hiring an attorney on retainer would be the solution. They know the system. Beware too, that attorneys are just as inefficient if you are careless in your search.

  89. So I’ve just learned two things to do if I go back to the Philippines. Demand a second test be taken, don’t trust the first test. And make sure the filter in the a/c is changed before I occupy the room.

  90. That’s the Philippines for ya.I left in May. I had to wait 10 hours in a sweltering hot room for a health certificate. When i finally got it they had spelled my name wrong! My name is Bill how do you mess that up? Had to go back the next day a suffer through it all again. When I got to the airport no one even asked for it. Glad you made it best of luck to you.

  91. Wow, that was much more than an ordeal. However, my thought is whether you actually had covid or was it a false positive. Did you check it out ( retested ) since you’ve got here? Also if so that would make you asymptomatic which your girlfriend didn’t show any symptoms she must be as well. So many thoughts must be running through your mind. Stephan

  92. Hi Henry
That’s some ordeal, but after 6 years of travelling back and forwards to Cebu I totally understand. I’m actually still here in Lahug.I also had to pester Qatar for a voucher, that amazingly appeared once I sent an email to the complaints dept.Glad you got home ok.Im kinda stuck here as the Philippines and Qatar are the UK redlist of banned countries. So looks like il be here for atleast another year. You have more patience than me,but I’m slowly getting used to having low expectations and a healthy negative disposition, in other word I assume everything will do wrong,so when it does not, then that’s a bonus!

  93. Wow……..what an ordeal to have gone through. Glad you made it 🙌
I would not have been able to handle all of that stress 😕
I’m surprised that they came to the conclusion that you’re covid free without even having a doctor examined you and no covid testing afterwards……….hmmmm

  94. Henry is patient 0. The hotel looks just like Hotel California beside Gaisano mall on Mactan. Maria and I have been LDR since March last year.

  95. Your story sounds vaguely familiar! 🙂 I’m headed back to Cebu City today to see Ritchie. Glad to see that you now have the Reekay vaccine!

  96. Well that settles it; there’s no way I will attempt to visit the Philippines as long as this scamdemic exists. I can’t see traveling many other places either, but the PI sounds like the worst for exploiting the virus hysteria for some unknown reason.

  97. Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry to hear about your ordeal Reekay. Your account of what you went through dealing with people, the so-so food, people not communicating normally and the various levels of gov’t beaurocracy is just too much. That and the lack of decent services and mis-communication is actually very typical of what I went through for 2 1/2 years in Cebu. I just couldn’t cope with it any longer and had to leave, sadly. There are many other things I truly loved and adored about the Philippines but you WILL be tested… continuously, so If you’ve got nerves of steel and infinite patience, maybe you’ll be ok. I wasn’t. 😔

  98. WOW! …Just viewed your video, Reekay! …Gotta hand it to you for your incredible patience! Glad you survived that insane ordeal, and you’re back home in The Inland Empire, and finally enjoying good quality time with your Mom, Brother!

  99. This is insane. I wonder if you could have gone to the embassy in manila and explained the situation? Its probably closed tho. Go figure philippines doesn’t have an orderly system for this.

  100. Worst than Planes ✈️ Trains and Automobiles 🚙, Lol… I think you should write a script and send it to Steve Martin you guys could act together this is hilarious I’m glad it wasn’t me though my friend I will never travel with you Reekay…LOL You’re a great story teller ….

  101. Reekay with all due respect. The reason why they dont tell you everything is because people think they are better than the authorities once they start asking questions.

  102. My head just exploded watching this!!! Wow! My wife and I have been wanting to go back to our home in the Philippines, but we will definitely wait until things get better in terms of restrictions. God Bless you for surviving that event.

  103. Something to think about…Corruption in Philippines….who making money or kick back money from keeping this corona virus going on and on forever…What you think…..reekay ?????. Your thoughts….So happy you and mother ok….

  104. Nightmare. Good on yah for working through the mumble, stumble and fumble. Getting stuck in the health care and support system is what sent me home day after President announced lockdown. There are a few great healthcare providers but in a pandemic everyhting will be overrun and stuck in chaos. And I ran from the POTENTIAL for Chaos. For me…my supporters never get released from my side until I’m wheels up over NAIA. Enjoy your time with mom.

  105. OMG, what a freaking headache! Does any of it really surprise you? You are in the Philippines. Even though Henry, anything that could go wrong did. I won’t travel over seas to Phi, Thailand, Vietnam… anywhere until this Covid garbage is over. Hope this next winter. Or, it’s Central America for my this winter. I still have 26 minutes left of your story, I’m sure there is more sickening stories to come. Sorry about all of this. BTW, getting ready to make the leap Jan 1st. next year. Have plenty, now, to do what I want… retire, travel, fun, food.. Went to Florida in March. Ended up in the hospital for 12 days. Open heart… 2 bypasses. You think I’m going to waste anymore time on anything??? Not sure I can take Philippines though. Yup, the women are the best and I have connections and a sweetheart who is highly educated… waiting (If I want) but the country is soooo messed up. We’ll see. Ok, back to your horror story.

  106. Glad you’re okay. Drama happens when your country is open for unvaccinated travel during a pandemic. You’re lucky to be alive and your story should serve as a warning to some of the counter culture. I hope you enjoy you time with your Mom now. Maybe consider bringing Vie to the US on a fiance Visa.

  107. now get to mexico as fast as you can before it is too late the USA is not a safe place to be rents there are up THERE IN MEXICO 1000% SO DONT FORGET YOUR WALLET IF YOU WONT TO GO

  108. Rekay, you have been working in the bioscience field, right? You have heard about false positives I’m sure.
Why didn’t you simply ask for a retest of your PCR test since you suspect it’s a false positive.
You can even do a PCR retest in a lab in another city or another company.

  109. Did it ever dawn on you that you were a false positive? Never got tested more than once? You risked being Covid positive and flew home to see your recovering Mom? I would go get tested to see if you were ever even Covid positive. Imagine? You could write a friggen book on this adventure and a half X 2

  110. All this for an imaginary disease. Everybody gets his cut, the ambulance company, the “compliant” hotel selling used thermometers, all the gov’t departments… and the airline gets to Bogart your money as an interest-free loan x how many other passengers they’re delaying. What a racket. Imagine if it were a real pandemic!

You can get pneumonia (e.g. “Legionnaires’ Disease”), let alone a cough, from a dirty A/C filter. And you should see what’s on those swabs, right out of the sealed package. There are BitChute videos on it, recorded in a German lab.

BTW you lost more than you think: From 210 to 187 is a 23 lb loss. And no matter how bad fascism is in the US, it’s worse elsewhere.

PS Anyone who tests “positive…” Play dumb and get tested again somewhere else. It’s a roulette game. False positives can be as high as 87%.

  111. Omg!! When I flew out of Philippines,Manila at the beginning of COVID (March 13,2020) I didn’t even try and get a flight. I just bought a new ticket for a new ticket to San Francisco for $1900 one way! I was so happy when I got to the USA!

  112. Wow, that is the story of the month here in PH, but it’s a story of the year in the US and yr a seasoned traveler also. O and a good son! Goodjob sir💯👊🏼

  113. Crazy story with great information for other expats that are traveling back to states. Thanks great video!! I just saw you a few weeks ago at Bo’s Ayala with “Coffee Lori”. Please help her get a channel going. Take care and happy your mother is doing well. Godspeed

  114. You can’t make this crap up!! Only in the Flip-jeans. I applaud your patience. You need to tell your ordeal to Paul in the Philippines and Mark Thornton. Have a great time in So. Cal.

  115. I was waiting to hear the airline tell you: “sir, it states you are able to fly, it doesn’t say in an airplane. Sorry sir, come back later. Lol

  116. quite the public service announcement to not go to the philippines…….everything is broken, no communication, idiots in charge, no spelling and reading and comprehension, everyone on holiday, the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing, hotels are in business with no guests but no hot water……..i’ll wait….before ever going.

  117. I wonder if the covid hotel room had either a room air freshener or air purifier… Those can give you a cough if you’re allergic to those like I am.. I was in the dentist office and they have air purifier which made me feel like I’m experiencing breathing difficulties.. Soon as they turned it off I was OK..

  118. Glad you made it safe even with the train smash in the middle.
As usual the saving grace in the PH is persistence and not “loosing it” even under extenuating circumstances.
Time with your mum is now key and regrouping before the trip back.
    Cheers Henry. Take care.

  119. what if it was a false positive and you didn’t have to go through any of this…..do they allow another test…then maybe a tiebreaker?

  120. Mean what you say, And say what you mean!
MAN! I went threw all type of emotions watching this video.
I laughed, I became upset, laughed some more. You can’t make this up.

  121. My experience with Google Voice, assuming you’ve got a Google Number you don’t need VPN to make a free call to the U.S. as long as the number you are calling is in your phone directory.

  122. a suggestion was made by several why i didn’t get a 2nd or 3rd test done.

for my test, i went to the lab at 7am and results didn’t get to my email until some time after 10pm or so. the results took a full day to get, and by the 2nd-day before my flight i was already short on time.

another reason i didn’t do this was because the first positive test put me “into the system” and by the day-after the lab result, i had two city health departments (cebu and mandaue) clamoring to put me into isolation before nightfall. so.. again, no time or opportunity to do a 2nd-test.

also, to get a 2nd test and even if it came back negative doesn’t erase the positive result from the system. at best, it would require a 3rd test as a tie-breaker and even that was no guarantee they’d overlook the original positive test result.

so there was simply no time or benefit to doing a 2nd test and definitely no time to do a 3rd test.

  123. on the amount of weight i lost, yes… my miscalculation doing the math in my head. i went from 210-187 which = 23lbs lost. which doesn’t surprise me as i was just getting by on pho and i didn’t go back to solid foods until after 3-weeks.

  124. Horrible experience you were put through Henry … You probably got PTSD …from it …..the way you described your relief after arriving home in CA. ..many questions for you …I have… Why didn’t you request a 2nd covid test .. when you got your false positive results ? And a 3rd test if need be ..? Why didn’t you get a Dr. Exam ..physical exam by a Dr. ..stating you’re in good health ..despite the ..the so called positive test ? After going thru the quarantine..you were actually sick and coughing ..all the way up until you’re flight …why did they allow you to board the flight ..when it was obvious you were sick and coughing right in front of them ? And why did the Sacred Heart ..health dept ..give you the health declare pass ..certificate ..when it was obvious ..you are coughing so badly ….? I’m so sorry for what you sent thru …it was tyrannical in my view …..lessons learned for all of us here ..still living in Cebu …

  125. as much as I LOVE the philippines…..
the vast majority of “officials” or “people in charge” are COMPLETE STUPID INCOMPETENT IGNORANT IDIOTS !!! (which includes the Embassy in Makati)!!

  126. Wow crazy story maybee should have tried another covid test after your intial quartine where it would have come negative. Not at all times the virus would show up after the 10 days. My buddy got it and after 5 days he tested negative. So unless u r one of those persistent positive testers. Also with Qatar u should have asked to speak to a supervisor.Qatar is a top airline and should have issued your box her immediately but usually the general reps aren’t trained well enough to handle the change process. Or maybee the Qatar office at the airport they would have been able to reissue your ticket

  127. Struth wat a nightmare. Stuff ups in the php was all the coughing caused by covid ?? Or something in that hotel room caused it aircon ? Maybe u was false positive?

  128. OMG, that sounds awful. The part I don’t understand is when the airline said 10 more days for voucher why didn’t you just book a new flight on CC and use the voucher next time?

  129. Wow Henry, i’m really sorry that you went through that kind ofcrap but I’ve also learned from being here for 2 years that phillipinos hate to give any kind of detailed information about anything ! Time is of no importance to them and, at times, I’ve found myself asking God “why can’t I wake up in MoVal lol.
But I’m really glad that your mom is doing great again and enjoy your stay with her while you work things out. Take care buddy😉

  130. Holy crap, I watched and listen to the whole video and then at 1:15:40 it gets to me…. made me cry.
I’m so happy for you, you are safe there now and your mum is all well.
I really love the philippines, but as I said… the “officials” are a real pain in the butt !

  131. I am happy your mother is doing well, Reekay, hope she makes it to a 100 and beyond. My mom is 98 and going strong. Your experience sounds like a scene out of one of Kafka’s novels, real Kafkaesque. All these government agents hiding behind their desks calling you from who knows where, sending you to nondescript places where you finally end up back where you started.
I am surprised you did not lose more weight. But I can see the weight loss in your face. OMG, what a fucking nightmare.
“Let’s face it, man is a deplorable, idiotic creature who cares about nobody but himself. But will tell you otherwise.”
From the book, Philosophical Ramblings, (in print)

  132. Wowza, shows how fast your life can change. Glad you and Mom are okay. Doubt many expats have experienced your ordeal. Man you got to be kidding me, what a mess. Almost like someone telling you from above, that you should have stayed in your Cebu Condo or we are going to test this mortal.

  133. That is crazy, i am not going to the Philippines. I wait till next year or the following year. That is a shame that’s the way 😕 they operate.

  134. Talk about EXTREME NIGHTMARE Henry! I would of lost it somewhere between the ambulance and the 3rd day in the quarantine hotel! Just glad to know you are feeling better and that your mom has recovered. Stay safe and just relax!

  135. I was caught in the Covid Lockdown in Manila.. March 15, 2020 until June 20,2020 until I was lucky to catch a Sweeper Flight after over 19 flight cancellations between Philair & CebuPac…inter island travel back home. I also had to change motels about 4 times. I finally ended up at a RedDoorz Plus chain in Quezon. I left one motel because there was an outbreak down the street at the Manila Lung Center. Only to find out, 2 weeks later that the one I was staying at had a doctor from the Lung Center stayed here for 2 week quarantine. About my 2nd day at this hotel, I also came up with a dry cough, especially at night, after about a week I checked the aircon filter and outside the unit. …both filthy with mildew/mold. I had them change the filters and clean outside the unit , my cough went away and along with my flu like symptoms. Here in my town, recently, a couple people requiring a swab test had tested Positive for Covid also. So they just had another test or two done which came up Negative. I have read online about countless Positive Tests being False. Especially if I was feeling fine, I would have automatically gotten tested again asap. But as far as all the documentation headache and one hand not knowing what the other is doing….I had the exact same problems. Seems protocols are changing daily depending on who you talk to. And Yes, it took many Bribes to get documentation that I needed quickly, otherwise it could take weeks to acquire.

  136. A good buddy of mine he has a solid girlfriend from davao too his been goin to php since the 90s he was living in davao with her for few years but now his left for Texas. Now drove to Mexico enjoying tacos etc his in similar boat as u as wen can travel back to PH .I THINK HE LEFT JUST BEFORE THE COVID? HE WAS PLANNING TO BRING HE TO THE USA BUT THEN THIS PANDEMIC HIT SO NOW THEY BOTH HAV TO WAIT .SUCKS [email protected]

  137. …I developed a dry cough like that while in college. It didn’t have anything to do with germs, but was simply from air- conditioned air in/out of dorms & classrooms. The humidity, or lack of, caused it. I finally got over it without any medicine, but was embarrassing…

  138. I don’t believe there’s another country in the world that loves paperwork like the Philippines; it doesn’t exist.
My wife just reacquired her Filipino citizenship and the useless employees at the Filipino consulate is the stuff of legend; she could write a book. Like Rickey’s ordeal, one would have to go through it to believe it. At the same time, she could write a book on plain stupidity at the State Department here in the US, trying to renew her US passport; that’s right, useless employees.
As for your nightmare trip, I’d have gone to a fancier hotel in Cebu, right after you left the so-called virus compliant hotel; as for qatar airways, once they started giving you excuses, I’d have booked on PAL or Emirates and use the voucher at a later date (I’m thinking that eventually you’ll bring your gf over for a visit to the States or another trip home).
The lack of infrastructure in the Philippines is beyond comprehension (not being to get internet unless you have Wi-Fi; I’d think one can sign up for a monthly plan, even in the Philippines).
As I’ve said many times before, Philippines’ greatest asset is the warmth and hospitality of her people; unfortunately, they have yet to get a government that literally cares about the Filipino people; they deserve better.

  139. Great Henry, she stays active. That is my plan, They say if you don’t use it you lose it, lol. Here is some news I read about like 1 week ago. They are saying that they think they will be at 50% herd immunity by October Lucky you Henry, lol..

  140. “You don’t get a key because you don’t get to leave.” Basically, you went to prison. It’s absolutely inhumane and awful that they did this to you.

  141. Positive for Covid 2 days before you flight that is sad, there goes that money for the flight. Hopefully you paid that travel insurance. By the way your background paper is cutting you out from time to time. What a hell of a mess, you got into. Welcome to the Philippines, ass backwards, LOL. Hostage in the Philippines, WTHell? Maybe the meat was that nasty Tocino they love here

  142. OMG… man I listened through your story and I’m totally stressed out. I would of go postal especially not being sick and the getting sick in that motel. Did u get your Covid shots yet?? What’s the news from the Philippines, when it’s opens up for tourists??
Can u do a video on that???? PLS 🙏 wishing u and your family the best.

  143. Hi Reekay : The AC filters I have seen while I stayed in the Philippines were all filthy .. I would do my best to clean the filter and any parts I could reach.. I heard that their people you can pay that will clean your AC .. Dry coughs suck.. Been there .. Just some simple advice .. check your AC filter and the vents and the cooling fins .. Any advice from fellow expats on this ?

  144. Honestly. I hung on, by my fingernails for 49 min of the 1.24 hour story from hell..
You made me re-think EVER EVER going to the Philippines.
I won’t deal with Covid-19 bullshit and the false positive tests, the airlines rules and regs, the certified prison hotels, the health dept inept abilities..
    Im staying in Mexico
I’ll find a GF here and im closer to the USA where i hold a passport..
Sorry filipinas. But you lost me and many other tourists even whenever the hell you do infact open your borders.
Im not relocating to PI EVER

  145. You are a very patience person otherwise you would have shout but still can’t get anywhere considering how things are being done in Asia. If you knew earlier, you would have asked to be admitted to the hospital where you may get the attention of nurses and drs. and given medications. Good that you recovered and have story to tell so other people facing the same situation will know what to do. Take care.

  146. You more than likely picked up a bug from the room you were staying in. if the aircon filter isn’t cleaned regularly this can happen. Not to mention not having a window for fresh air circulation.

  147. I checked in to a compliant hotel near parkmall for three days on arrival to Philippines. 12 hours later negative test result. As I’d paid I stayed and wife joined me. Recently she went to a cash point in a mall. No miss, you need to wear a face shield. Really? Yes mamm, no shield no entry. At that she removed her full face crash helmet and put the shield on top of her head, not over her face. Thank you mamm, carry on. Sorry to hear about your ordeal. Hope to see you back soon.

  148. Wow 😳 What an ordeal Henry…. I wonder 💭 if the lab 🧪 gave you a false positive, then you contracted Covid from the hotel room where you stayed in isolation. If you need anything, I am in Huntington Beach, not far from where you are now… Good to hear you are doing good now. Life is short, enjoy each day….

  149. Now that you’re back in the states is there anyway that you can get a covid test and see if it will tell you if you ever had covid? I bet you didn’t.
I’m going to have to wait till they completely stop testing for covid before I go over there. I know that I’m not smart enough to run through everything thing you did and the taxi driver is dropping you off at the wrong place at that point I think I would have sat down and cried or tried to buy a speed boat to go home. I could cross the Ocean in 6 weeks on a speed boat.

  150. Sorry about all the comments and the cursing my friend. What a fucking nightmare dude, good thing you do not have any problem for money. Dude, I been there before they have no clue. Ask people in a store where something is thay tell you and it is not there. They just want you out of there face, most of these people are lazy as hell.

  151. You left a little too early. They just opened up the pool and gym at the condo. I’m glad your family seems to be doing better.

  152. Dry cough and weakness sounds like you got the covid symptoms which can take up to 2 weeks to appear after infection. Did they not have a nurse or doctor available at the hotel? Happy Ending was awesome.

  153. LOL .. I am sorry but I been threw this also.. It is a big money maker for them. Hype and crap.. The only virus you need to be tested for to see if you have it. LOL.. The Philippines is my covid nuts than any other country.. Yet they don’t post the death rate..

  154. Stop + Think 🤔
Had you not been Forced to get that PCR test,
    Or
Had the lab screwed up your test results,

You would have got on that original PAL flight, and been hugging your 87 yr old Mom only hours later (infecting who knows how many all along the way)!

God, and Filipinos, work in odd ways to protect some, even tho…

Perhaps your MOM (+you) Owe the Philippines, and many, kind Filipinos, a huge debt of gratitude.

In any event: So happy that your Mom is doing well and that you’re spending, priceless, quality time together! ♥️

Filipino friends, living in California with their elderly parents, went to a Christmas 🎄 party.

Few days later the entire household learned that they were all Covid-19 infected (as a result of the one couple attending that party).

A month later, 87 yr old Papa passed, alone, in the ICU. ♥️

  155. That was quite an ordeal! Thanks for sharing that so everyone can learn about the intricacies of the health and travel policies in the Philippines. Happy to hear both you and your mother are doing well!

  156. The system finally got hold of Reekay who survived 1 year in a hysteria struck country.
Imprisoning healthy people – New World Order.

Reekay should have repeated the test … 60% of PCR test results can be odd… so it is a lottery.

  157. Horror story,,,, btw was that a false positive test? Did you get tested in Cali? Any issues at LAX? Did you have a swab up the nostrils test at LAX? Or was it a smooth sailing at LAX and immigration,,,,,thanks in advance in case you answer my queries,,,,Henry you are the Man that’s why I’ve subbed to you for the past 5 yrs, regards to your mom

  158. Sounds like good way to lock people up and n trump’s prison s.so I’m guessing you had to pay for this 5 week stay in the hospital?? This sounds like a nightmare

  159. Next time fly on Delta. You can change your flight unlimited times right online. And you will even get a credit if the new flight you choose is a lower price. I did it twice going in and out of Mexico in December, and it took me under 2 minutes.

  160. I heard the new vaccine I administered thru the anus seriously no joke and mandTory..and sometime s all that is on purpose then some other little thing happens and your toast I went to Texas two weeks ago ago and got stranded in chicago for not one but two fuckn two days in a american airlines was giving me such a hard time o I just heard u say two as well american airlines screwed be so hard I had to about 800 for fiasco and american airlines have no refunds or apology in fact during this thing happening they never even reasured me it’s like would just lie to me make faces . Wow man that’s sad what happened to u 3 flights I thought mine was bad u had the covid thing going to man that is brutal I thought I was experience d traveling enough not have to go thru something like this happening again cause I had a really bad experience in jfk so it’s interesting to here this

  161. SEAsia is great when you are problem free but when a problem emerges and stress kicks in you are vulnerable and sickness will follow

  162. Now I understand why the Philippines is such a poor country and why it never attracted substantial foreign investment- the bureaucracy is probably the worst in the world from the sound of it. I think that I would have strangled someone at the health department and the taxi driver. This story itself makes me completely rethink ever setting foot on Philippines soil.

  163. Nope, I’m not doing any international travel this year solely due to the CV testing requirement and quarantine for 14 days upon arrival or before leaving any destination. Apparently they don’t have these requirements if you travel across the border and I’m seriously just considering driving to Tijuana and taking a flight from Tijuana to Cancun. There’s no way I would have the mental or physical fortitude to endure what you went through. This was the worst travel experience I have ever heard of.

  164. Sounds like a scam .just to more money by making you stay in that crap hotel .i doubt u were positive for the virus .looks like phillipines is showing its true colours

  165. That hotel looks like the asq hotel in Thailand I had a couple of friends do 14 days in Bangkok and it didn’t look like fun thanks for the video J

  166. Complete nightmare and so frustrating for you, glad you’re through it now. Also glad you did not need to go to hospital. I strongly suspect you did not catch it from the hotel room, but it may have contributed to it being worse due to the air quality. So funny getting your certificate on hotel checkout, no worries if you are still infectious, its no longer their problem 🙂 Lesson: as lovely as the people are, never trust anyone in the Philippines, they will lie to your face and say anything to get either what they need or to get you to do what they want you to do. I know you didn’t have much choice here though.

  167. I have never commented- but I empathize with your experience Henry. Sorry that all happened and you have more patience than I would have..

  168. Philippines Shangri-La turns into Philippine hades. Don’t think I’ll ever return to the Philippines. Love the country, love the people. The world has changed in this battle of Good vs evil. Would loved to have heard if HCQ was available to order at Rose.

  169. Well Henry,,,1}you were possibly a healthy carrier,,,thats why u were positive without any symptoms…
    2) the appropriate process is to do another covid test after 7days of quarantine,,it should show a negative result,,,discharging without a post quarantine test and issuing a certificate is definitely medically inappropriate, its a medical blunderi ,,,wonder what kind of medical service is this,,,3}u must be a superman to still be able to go back to php n live with their crapped system,,,anyway,,,wish u all the best Henry,,

  170. Wow! What a story. I had to watch it in installments. Now I’m worried to travel anywhere because getting back can lead to the same kind of madness for me if I catch it. Even worse, if I were to get deathly ill outside the US. Glad your mom is well.

  171. Hi Richard, your story is almost a good basis for making a horror movie. Really unbelievable, I hope this never happens to you again. I wish you the best and hope your mother makes a quick recovery. Take full advantage of those moments with your mom. 😊👍🙏

  172. Is it not entirely possible that the symptoms came on when you were at the hotel..? Continuous cough, weakness loss of appetite are classic covid symptoms. Blaming an Aircon is possible, but seems unlikely. Just incredible bad luck to somehow get covid just before the flight. Literally the worst luck possible really.

  173. Those women must be contact tracers. They usually come in a team of 3-4 people. Not all hotels are accredited by DOH for isolation or quarantine centers for covid patients.

  174. What an ordeal. I feel your pain. I also lost 23 pounds when I got Covid (you actually lost 23 as well not 17… 210 – 187 = 23).

But you shouldn’t be traveling while you are still sick & coughing anyway. Anyone traveling internationally should have (and is usually required to have) a PCR Lab test within usually 72-96 hours of departure. A negative PCR test in the last 3-4 days will enable you to get on any flight provided you aren’t sick the day of departure and you have the necessary exit documents. If you are still testing positive but the symptoms are long gone, then maybe you are not contagious. But do you really want to risk getting all these people at hotels, pharmacies, health departments, airports, and on your flight sick based on an assumption? I was more cavalier about it until I got sick and had family members die from it.

Another tip Reekay is to always have Google Maps downloaded offline or your location (in case you lose data). I NEVER get in a taxi or on a moto taxi without first putting in the destination on my map and making sure the correct route is being followed. If the driver doesn’t know the place or is taking me on a long route, I immediately tell him and insist he goes in the correct direction. It’s good practice to always do this when you are going to a destination you haven’t visited before. That would have eliminated the transportation between health care departments issue. Plus it’s free and takes no time to do.

I’m glad you made it home finally. I think when you deal with these types of disorganized non-communicative bureaucracies you should try to get things in writing, for phone calls – ask for the name & department of everyone you speak to, call the airline before booking and ask specifically what you need (and log that persons name and number). Demand the hotel credit your credit card and give you a receipt or write a note on company letterhead stating your 10 day stay would be transferred to the new hotel. This is just basic travel 101 stuff for any international traveler especially when traveling in countries like the Philippines. An ounce of prevention as they say.

    Hope you’re back to 100%.

  175. Alot of folks thought Philippines would be open in the middle of this year. I need to get there and get my girl out of there and get back here.

  176. The airlines try to push your voucher until after 60 days so you have no leverage to dispute the charge on your credit card. So then if they don’t pay you, you have no recourse. You should immediately dispute the charges on your credit card if this happens again.

If they go bankrupt or change their policy in the future, you have zero leverage. Your only leverage is disputing the charge on your credit card immediately, day one.

  177. Is your online Filipina honest with you or is she playing u for a fool?
First off, if u met her online and she HASN’T given u her FB account u have to get her full name and just search for it. 99,99 % she has one. Have her turn off/deactivate or delete her dating app profile (& keep checking this every week, since most will reactivate it or just block u there instead of deactivating it).

If she ISN’T taking your calls immediately, having ample time to talk with you, answering your messages etc, video chatting regularly, friending u on her FB account AND KEEPING her dating profile(s) deactivated she is not for real, has a local bf already and/or are talking with multiple ‘online boyfriends’ while telling you that she’s only yours. I.e. she is collecting money transfers and gifts and more.

  178. There is one thing you can do the next time you stay in a Filipino hotel and that is to prevent the air conditioner (air-con) from making you sick again. Pop off the lid or cover in front of the air-con, lift out the filter then wash it off in a sink or tub. That will remove the dirt and bacteria or Covid on it. when dry spray some alcohol over the surface to kill anything remaining. The hotels never clean them and as you will see the are usually very dirty. You will find that it is easy to open the front panel on an air-con, they are mostly snapped on. See my Facebook Page for photos on how. https: //www. facebook. com /mickey. harman. 902/ Remove the spaces for a working link.

  179. I admire you for your patience and persistence Reekay; like Overstay Way said, “you have the patience of a million monks…” No kidding! It’s this disorganized system and “red tape” chaos of the really frustrating, challenging, and patience-eroding public service (or lack thereof) in both the government and private sector that you have to prepare for, grapple with, and psyche yourself for when in the Philippines. I am fully aware of this and have to recalibrate my attitude and expectations, particularly after having lived in the U.S. for 37+ years and having taken this for granted. I visit the Philippines every other year or so but the Covid situation and the potential nightmare scenarios such as what you experienced are giving me serious pause in our already delayed plans to visit sometime the end of this year.

  180. This video has over 10k views..the previous video over 17k..much more than a typical video. The entire video was very interesting. It lasted over an hour and every moment I was wondering what would come next.

  181. God bless you Sir! Patience is a virtue. Sorry for all this headche & confusing experiences. Praying that this covid game will end soon🙏

  182. Reekay what if i told you that you’re still dreaming right now and you’re about to wake up in cebu in 3…2…1 … just kidding lol 😂. Glad you made it safe. Do u think you really had it or a false positive ?

  183. Maybe I missed it but I I know the test is required to be negative within 3 days of flight but how long is you covid clear letter good for after you completed your quarantine or did they change the date after you had it corrected

  184. When you and Orville Henry write books about your travels ordeals during Covid; the 2 books will be NYT best sellers. Congratulations to you both for succeeding “no matter what”

  185. Reminds me on my 1st hotel in Mactan in December 2015: Goldberry Suites & Hotel; I stayed there to meet the woman, that is married to me since 19. April 2017. We both stayed at this hotel and I had to tell them FIVE times to repair the hot water boiler! They did it five times, and it always crashed again! It boiled for one and a half shower, then something made a click inside the boiler and it did not heat anymore. After this I found better hotels, that never failed with heating the water. So I know, that no hot water can really makes you going insane…

  186. Glad you are back to your mom and you and her are in good health.. thats whats matter.
Thanks for sharing, that is why I will never travel before this whole Covid thing ends.

  187. Whoa! What a story. You have the patience of 1000 people, let alone getting financially screwed by every hand in that pie. After hearing this, I will pass on the Philippines, this is real life. Thank you for sharing, and I am so sorry to hear about your ordeal in all it’s grisly details.

  188. Story well told , many would have handled your situation not as well, glad your mum is in better health, you being there will be a big boost toher, finally you have ambrosia ! like the kitchen roomy modern tidy and good light , cheers from N Z.

  189. I had a coworker that tested positive, had no fever, no symptoms and two days later he was dead. I know you think you got sick from the ventilation but you did test positive before you checked into the covid hotel.

  190. She is happy because she has her son back. At least for awhile. Dude, you did the right thing by returning to California. I no longer have my parents. What I would do to be able to see and hung my mother and or father. My mother passed away at age 56 in March 1997. So yes, it’s been a long minute. Fortunately, I was blessed to have my dad around a little longer. He passed in April 2012 at age 83. Praying for you and your family brother.

  191. Thanks for sharing your story. I’m so glad you finally made it home safely. My heart has been heavy for the people of the Philippines…it seems things are getting worse and worse there.

  192. It’s sad that the Philippines government can’t get their [email protected] together. They are shooting themselves in the foot. Sadly I don’t think anyone can change them. The pandemic seems to have pushed them back into the dark ages even further. I had some hope of coming there to explore the country and perhaps embark on a new journey however after listening to your experience I think it will be well into the future before I visit the idea again. I just hope the government doesn’t succumb to economic turmoil to the point of no return. There is no telling how many years it will take to repair the damage. They need the intervention of technology and better systems but they can’t see the forest for the trees.

  193. I am glad you made it safely, stay close to your mom.
I was stranded in indonesia for 3 months dealing in a jungle of bureaucracy, i could nt believe whrn i arrived in seattle.
I need to rest for few years.

  194. Wow what a cluster F guess all you can do is have patience in a sitiation like that, glad your back in So Cal with your mom, living in Northern calif,I always love going back home to Orange county to visit family,Im a new subscriber looking forward to your videos!

  195. One thing is for sure, I would end up in jail for life if something like that would happen to me. I’m still amazed how you could have managed to keep that calm throughout this nightmare.

  196. What a terrible experience. You can be asymptomatic for days or weeks and then experience symptoms. Sounds like COVID started showing itself. Take it from me who had 12 family members that got COVID and there were no symptoms or many different types of symptoms. I never got it because I wasn’t around them for nearly a year and now I am fully vaccinated. Glad to see you made it through this ordeal…my mother was the one relative that died out of that group of 12.

  197. And this folks is the reason Covid will always be with us. You seem like a nice guy Reekay, but this was the most selfish story I’ve ever watched. You tested positive for Covid, didn’t feel bad at first (asymptomatic) and became a super spreader all in hopes of bringing it to the U.S. You then (presymptomatic) developed the persistent cough, dropped weight but blamed it on A/C. These are the types of people who unfortunately bring it home to their parents with dire consequences. Folks, if you test positive for Covid, cancel all plans and quarantine. It is not the government’s responsibility to baby sit you to do the right thing for society.

  198. Wow, what a incredible ordeal. Must have been so frustrating. Persistence pays off. I will be glad when someday soon this Covid madness is behind us,so we can get back to open borders.

  199. Sunlight is a remedy for this SCAM-demonic! Thus for health officials to put you in a room with no sunlight is TOTALLY AGAINST THEIR HYPOCRATIC OATH, if they ever made the oath!
“Tests” are fake, useless! Kerry Mullins(?) inventor of PCR test said it isn’t meant to detect the putative “virus”! The “tests” have also been examined to contain toxic, possibly intrusive nano-particles! Does that explain your cough!?
I watched some of your previous videos about Philippines and thought you was an intelligent dude. But this story shows you’re a little gullible about what’s really going on here.
    Anyway, take care folks!

  200. If you test positive you should know there going isolate you 14 days wouldn’t surprise me they take it more seriously there .

  201. With so many cases of false positives, I was wondering why you hadn’t considered, on hearing of the positive result, of going out immediately and taking another test. If it came out negative, wouldn’t that have allowed you to travel? Rather than going to the same testing clinic, go to an alternate site to avoid bureaucracy.

  202. I left in May the BS in the Philippines it was off the charts. I’ll wait another year if I must to go back. But maybe Malaysia is better for me. Maybe Belize or Mexico. But my Filipina will be sad.

  203. What an ordeal….1:24:16 video with ALL the details. Your artificial video background by-the-way is not synching properly and your face and shoulders were popping in and out of view the whole 1:24:16. I was hooked to stay with it for the whole one hour + just to see how it turned out.

Moral of the story, trying to fly in or out of the Philippines in the middle of a pandemic is not advised and most likely an insurmountable task for any ordinary person especially somebody walking around covid positive during the early asymptomatic period of time. Given all of the various add-on expenses it is probably not something most people could afford either.

One interesting detail worth noting is how many asymptomatic covid positive people there are out there, just like you, that have no idea they are covid positive and moving about among the general population. You picked it up from somebody else that probably had no idea they were covid positive or just didn’t care. Another interesting detail was that once you became symptomatic with all the debilitating coughing and hacking and remained symptomatic the whole time you were coughing and hacking until you finally recovered some two weeks after you got to California. It seems hard to imagine that anybody in your general vicinity would believe you were covid recovered with all the coughing and hacking going on.

I’m just happy your experience was such that you survived and lived to tell about it. There are lots of people haven’t been so fortunate…..may they rest in peace.

  204. Wow! This vid was absolutely interesting and compelling to watch….had me on the edge of my seat with all the twists and turns of your predicament….at times felt like I was right there with you with my stomach in knots and all the angst….you sir, are a very logical and patient soul!! The patience of Job!! 👍

  205. Please y’all keep Reekay’s ordeal in perspective. PH is a country dealing with millions of its people struggling to survive during Covid and now hanging in the rear view mirror is the horror that is India’s experience. Do we really wanna call em out for not focusing on the .1% hundred ( MAYBE hundred’s) of expats who have tested positive for Covid just before an international flight? Gotta give ’em some slack for using their very limited resources on where the most of their people are experiencing the most dire needs. I’ve met Reekay and he is my favorite vlogger and so he and I and any other of u who have spent extensive time in the PH know that helpful lady Grace, he spoke of is not atypical of filipinos one might encounter thru this ordeal or any other.

  206. That how I felt when I left Philippines after first lock down with all paper work I was lucky was no covid test at that time.

  207. for the future, if you have that cough buy a bag of hard peppermint candy Best thing I have ever had for a dry cough. It keeps moisture in your mouth along with the peppermint that cools and keeps you from coughing.

  208. Relay I went through hell years ago in Manila but it was my own fault so I can start to understand u couldn’t believe I was home, or on my flight I kissed the Aussie ground lol

  209. Enrique. Your already
    Are. My heroe.
    But now that I,m hearing
    You .on this
Your are my super super super.heroe.
    An experience like yours

    That would ment
    Dead.

    Enrique, nice to see you
    Well in your mama arm
    God. Bless.

    Australia.

  210. Enrique
    I believe you
    1000.x 1000
    Your know the pilipinas
    Better than me
    But the pilipinas per se
Can be a pain.in the ass
    Put covid shit on top
    And you can. Bingo.

  211. Glad you made it back to SoCal. I was in Orange County and decided to go back to Vietnam on Dec. 2, 2019 even though there were warnings about the virus in Wuhan at LAX. I took Singapore Airlines to Singapore to visit friends and went to Vietnam in January, 2020. On my flight to Saigon there were only 71 people on the 777. I had the whole back section of the plane to myself. People were afraid to travel. The flight attendant told me in her 15 years she never experienced such an empty flight. I arrived in time to enjoy the Tet holiday and spend time with my friends. Then the Covid panic started to materialize. I ended up as the only guest in the 6 story hotel but I decided to stay through February and enjoy Valentine’s Day. My friends told me to leave Vietnam so I would not be stranded. I made it back to US b4 they locked down the country I got a flight to Singapore but I had a day layover there. Had to answer questions and go through body temperature scanners at Changi. Finally got to Narita in Tokyo and we had to go to a special area and get interviewed and temperature checked. Luckily I was able to catch my flight to LA. The majority of passengers that boarded in Japan had masks. I did not. It was not required then. I arrived in LA and surprisingly I was the only US citizen on board. I breezed through Customs and made it home. I ended up self-quaranting for 20 days because I had no energy and had to force myself to get up and eat. I got my Covid J&J vaccine last March on a Thursday and that Sunday night I got that miserable, persistent dry cough for almost 2 weeks. I know what you went through with that cough!! Good luck and good health.

  212. Harrowing story, glad it worked out in the end. Couldn’t you have just booked another flight right then and used the voucher for like a return flight?

  213. Oh dear Lord Rick! Fear and loathing in Cebu… I never knew you had a black cloud following you. 😉 First off, if it would have been me, I would have immediately gotten a second test. A second opinion if you will. It may have saved you a lot of grief but it looks like you really did have it. Did you EVER get a 2nd test? Many countries and airlines have required a “Fit to Fly” certificate from a Dr, for ALL passengers for over a year, and not just ones who have had covid. This requirement was all over the news and on airlines websites etc. https://philippineslifestyle.com/airplane-passengers-required-to-present-health-certificates-travel-passes/. But why in the world would you want to fly 7000 miles to Doha, in the exact opposite direction of LA to fly to LA? Yeesh! I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do… We had to go through a bunch of BS for 2 months trying to get to Bangkok. Two of our flights were cancelled days before the flights. This was due to Manila’s 1500 passenger limit a day at MNL. Finally we gave up on Philippines Airlines and got seats on a “repatriation” flight with Thai Airways. The showed that Coach was fully booked and only had a few left in Business Class so we paid for Business seats. But when we got on he plane WE were the ONLY ones in Business and coach had only about 70 people and there are over 200 seats! The plane was nearly empty! Go figure! My wife asked the stewardess why this was and she said that people were having a hard time getting COEs from the Thai Embassy. I can relate there too! If we didn’t have a personal friend at the Embassy we would not have gotten my COE nor my Visa! It’s NUTS! Thank goodness you didn’t go to Manila! We had to renew our COE’s, quarantines in Bangkok, all kinds of transportation and hotel reservations, our dogs paperwork and pet agencies reservations in both countries and on and on and on. And we had to do all this 3 TIMES!!! We almost missed the 3 month window for my Thai visa which was a whole another debacle to get! Thank God we finally are sitting comfortably at our 4 star covid hotel/apartment residence in Thong Lor, Bangkok. We have 3 days left in quarantine before we have a van nd a driver drive us up to Chiang Mai with our 6 suitcases, 4 carry-ons, a dog crate, wheelchair and walker where we have rented a nice pool villa for a year. We would have flown but the domestic flights wont let us take that much luggage. We also just made it into the 10 day quarantine that started April 1st here but now they have gone back to the 15 day requirement due to a 2nd wave here in Thailand. Then they were to announce yesterday if they were going to lock down Bangkok or not. Thank goodness they decided to leave it open or we would have been stuck in “Ground Hogs Day loop” in this hotel! So Rick, I can totally relate! Thank goodness we both got “Home”… I am also happy and relieved about both yours and your Moms health… Mabuhay! 🙂

  214. What an incredible story…only in the Philippines!!!!!! I’ve been to that—–place twice for lengthy stays. I know the culture and what have you. The level of incompetence corruption and over-the-top political BS slave labor pay, long hours demanded of workers, tests, costs, even for workers making 150-200 a month I found to be unreal. So your story fits my narrative of the Philippines. Common sense is nearly devoid. I like the primarily poor class as they are their best citizens it seems. Many, many good people in a system that defies description. But a good number of truly evil people, too.
The one-on-one bunko crime is very, very high. The president there is something else too, elected when I was there in May, 2016 I believe. Turned into a near-total hypocrite, and an apparent sell-out to the Chinese. I can literally feel your pain as I had some very weird and horrible experiences there, too. I believe it would be the last country outside of my own here in States that I would not live.
Your story is like the Twilight Zone, one of fiction, but that I know is true. Take care Reekay.

  215. Manila NEW PASAY CITY VERY CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT IS A VERY NICE MODERN NEW AREA GOOD PLACES TO EAT ROXAS BLVDE AREA WORTH CHECKING OUT

  216. As a former US Marine, I couldn’t have taken it, I would have taken the punk by the lapels, and choke him out and went crazy on it all. How in God’s name could you have taken that? You deserve the Medal: Surviving the Philippines, with five stars. The Philippines already has a reputation for being one of the worst countries in the world handling, managing the Covid. They add about 4-5 notches above the norm in almost pure insanity they are so extreme.

  217. Its great you made it to California and thank God your mother is ok .! Strange thing is if you wasn’t catching a plane then u NEVER would hav had that covid test and like u said u felt fine with no symptoms at all and wouldn’t hav known any different .

  218. Hi , watched your recent video regarding your difficulties departing the Philippines. Im really at a lost of words. Glad to hear things finally worked out. Im also married to a filipina. Both myself and my wife live here in Moreno Valley Ca. I was stationed here at March Air Force Base and retired after serving 20 years in the Air Force. Im 61 years old and under no circumstances would I ever live in the Philippines. I don’t think i can handle the difficulty or stress that you just went through. Keep in touch, I’ll continue watching your videos for future updates. Also great that your mom is healthy and doing fine.Take care

  219. What an incredible story/nightmare Henry. Thanks for sharing! Are you now already scheduled for getting a vaccine in the US or do you expect a vaccination appointment will be made shortly?

  220. I have been waiting for this to come out. We had a busy day here in Iloilo so Melinda and I watched it in 3 segments. So much you covered reminded us of our trip coming into the Philippines last November and trying to get clearance to fly to Iloilo Like you a huge ordeal. Our friend that was with us came back as covid 19 recovered on his test result. Amazing he got tested and recovered in 24 hours! lol. It said he had completed his isolation as a positive cv19 patient. All in less than a day! We soon have to face leaving here and we are booked to fly thru Manila. It has us on the edge. We know how easy a false test result can pop up. I am so sorry you went thru SO much. Your are back stateside with family and that is awesome. Thank you for sharing your journey. James and Melinda @Texas Filipino

  221. Wow wee what a nightmare Henry. I’ve had AC in Hotels in Thailand and Vietnam make me sick in the past but that was because of Sooty Mold in the filters because they were not maintaining them by cleaning the filters and keeping the condensation tray clean and making sure it drained properly.
Good luck Henry and l hope your Mum stays well.

  222. How long have you lived in the Philippines? No offense but how did you not know that you would have to go to a quarantine hotel after having a positive test.I live in the province and know what happens if you have a positive test.

  223. hi from scotland my friend i would love to meet up in cebu sometime when thay start the visa,s again love the chanel keep up the good work

  224. For that coughing, try drinking some hot tea with honey, then take your belt and clinch it very tight around your chest for half a day or so. Lay flat and do deep stomach breathing. This will clear your chest.

  225. Apparently they changed rules by health department in hotel accommodation again. Can’t order food from outside and have to buy food from hotel you staying even water. Have to accept and eat what ever food hotel provided but have to pay for meals for seven days in advance.

  226. The Philippines is a third-world country, and if you at the same time are thinking, there is a big need for money, even more during the covid, I guess that’s it.

  227. Geez, man. I feel your pain. But thank you for sharing your Philippine misadventure. Filipino politicians and bureaucrats are highly educated. Duterte, who leads the pak, is a law grad. However, when faced with a conundrum, the major players listed below perform an interesting song and dance routine. Their actions reminds me of a classic 3-Stooges Which Way to Tunis movie. The goal is good but once the edict, ruling, or order gets down to the rank and file, the message is entirely different than the purpose…
    President Rodrigo Duterte
Senator Bong Go (chief influencer to the president)
Chief implementer & vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr.
    Testing czar Vince Dizon
    Department of Trade and Industry
    Department of Health
Department of the Interior and Local Government
    Department of Foreign Affairs
    Department of Tourism
    Food and Drug Administration
    Bureau of Customs
    Bureau of Immigration
    Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF)

  228. It says right on the packaging for these tests that they’re “not to be used to diagnose any disease”. If you’re not sick, then you do not have covid, covid is the name given to the ‘disease’, not the virus. Governments will never get this right. The good news is that if you were exposed to china virus at some point, you’re immune now.

  229. Wow-what a terrible and frustrating experience. Glad you made it back okay. I would have requested a 2nd Covid test just to be sure it was not a false positive, as well as getting the test in the USA once you returned just as a sanity check. Do you plan on getting the vaccine now since you are back? I get my second dose next week.

  230. Just thinking // you were already positive before you got to the hotel. Because you said after a day in that room you started coughing . If you were not already positive it would have taken three to seven days before you showed symptoms. And in my opinion you were released to early. Should have kept you in quarantine a few more days

  231. It’s hard enough to make sure you have everything to exit there without a positive result .
Many of the things you’ve covered through the years about adjusting to life there
Unfolded at the most in opportune time . Way to grind it out Henry . Big picture is you are spending time with mom . Most of our parents are gone .
We would walk your recent path and further believe it or not For a few more precious moments. Enjoy yourself . You deserve it . I’m

  232. Was this “_Murphy’s Law_” or what. Unreal! I really doubt that anyone will come foreword with anything near trumping your fiasco!
So good that you will be able to stay with your Mom thru Christmas! God bless her 🙏🏻

  233. welcome to the hotel CA were you might never check out, get antibody test. i got rung through ringer here and never had it ,its about the money,,we met at starbucks 2017

  234. An 1.5 hour explanation of life in the Philippines. Nothing is easy or simple. Everyone knows nothing and will give you the run around. Sorry to hear about your horrible experience. I bet it’s good to be home. Thanks for sharing. Sure it will help a lot of people.

  235. Thanks for sharing, I live in Cebu now and I’m going to have to get one of these COVID tests unless the US changes it’s policy. It sounds to me like they might be ripping people off here. It’s like 5K for a test last I checked. Now we have to worry about getting a false positive and they can get more Money out of us. I wonder how many others this has happened to. I hope they scrap this reqm’t from US CDC or State Dept wherever it comes from. It’s causing too many problems I see.

  236. Reekay, Covid-19 is HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS so they lock you up in ISOLATION. The Medical Persons will don Hazmat Protective Gear before coming into contact with you.

Because Covid-19 is so HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS you cannot leave the room until it is deemed you are SAFE.

Having Covid-19 you are like “TYPHOID Mary”. You can easily spread the virus to others.

I had Covid-19. After I tested Positive, an Ambulance came to picked me up. They transported me to the Hospital for Medical Yreatment and Isolation.

Upon being released from the Hospital Nine Days later, an Ambulance came to take me back home for Ten Days Self Quarantine.

That is How Serious Covid-19 is. IT IS NOT A JOKE OR TAKEN LIGHTLY. PEOPLE DIE FROM IT.

I was very sick, I was put on High Flow Oxygen. I received Four Treatments of the drug Remdesivir.

After having Covid-19 I got Vaccinated because it is very serious and is not a joke.

  237. What happened to you Reekay was unbelievable. And what is more unbelievable is that you maintained your sanity and didn’t start crying during this terrible ordeal.

  238. Luck of the Black Duck! Welcome to my world, I have had quite a few exp’s that are similar. Granted, NONE ever took 5+ weeks to sort themselves out, But they were pretty Stressful times. I feel your pain! Glad your home now & hopefully you can look back and laugh a lil about it.

  239. what is the name of the quarantine hotel you stayed at… im coming to cebu next week and want to be sure and not book a room at a hotel that is housing covid patients!

  240. Its the Filipino, doesn’t know how to speak or explain things correctly in English, that is the crux of the matter.
However, my wife , (filipina) and i have been cracking up at your comedic description of your ordeal, UNBELIEVABLE.
That is why we are staying in New Zealand until this fiasco fizzles out before we come back to Cebu, hopefully. Bob.

  241. Wow…Just watched your video…It Frickin wore me out…to watch the whole thing…I would have Lost it…
I’m coming up on 3 years here in July…So I guess I will just get ready…I am Married to a Filipina..
And got my first Vaccination 2 weeks ago…

  242. I would have demanded a second Covid test immediately. When I saw the small windowless Covid qualified room I would have immediately demanded a room with a window that could be opened. Also why didn’t you ask to have a doctor examine you regarding your cough.

  243. So, if you test positive for covid19 and you spend 10 days in solitary confinement and come out with a persistent cough, you are good to go, no problem? Covid gone? As long as you don’t have a fever? I’m not a doctor but doesn’t that seem strange there was never a second test on the way out of HOTEL COVID or did I miss something? Then you go the next few weeks coughing all over trying to get your documentation and such…on another note, it seems like there was about 2 or 3 grand in hotels food and travel expenses within the 6 weeks to get home. Glad your doing well and spending time with your mom. Cherish the this window of time.

  244. You can’t get a straight answer anywhere anymore. 3rd world/1st world its a complete joke. They either don’t know what’s going on or wont help you. They just fuck with you….Definitely pay the $300 in this situation.

  245. My god … I could not stop watching, because I knew it would get worse, and worse and worse.. Oh by the way 187 to 210 is 23# not 17#…. Love our Mommas!!

  246. It’s more fun in the philippines! Having worked for NWA Delta Alaska and Continental please take this advice…always buy full fare fully changeable tickets. Avoid the good deals

  247. You have lived there long enough.
    Only in the Philippines.
    Very sorry for the BS.
I was married on March 11th and then the country went to lock down. I finally got a flight out in June almost didn’t and because of all The BS me And my wife are waiting she is waiting right now for her interview to come here to the US. Praying for this to hurry up. Good luck with everything and mom looks great 👍 God bless you and your mom and miss b

  248. Hello Reekay. I’m glad your feeling better. I kept waiting for you to use the “quarantine” word. Originally they were 14 days, but are now 10 days. Most of the guidelines countries are following are actually established by the CDC in the USA.
Here in the UAE, many people are required to go to the government quarantine centers. However, if you have your own accomodations, you can stay there.
I’m a little surprised that you were shocked by the quarantine requirements.

  249. I’m a Filipina in UK and your ordeal puts me off booking a holiday in PH. I feel sorry that the system is so chaotic there.

  250. This is a perfect advertisement, why not to live in the Philippines. The people are great, but the Government and the system is below a 3rd world country.

  251. I feel you! That’s a painful ordeal. That’s why I hate processing papers in Phils. some gov’t agencies don’t know how to coordinate things that can save time and everything, they tossed you like a football. sad face!

  252. Man I cannot even convey how much I feel for you over this ordeal. It’s almost like you couldn’t even dream about it in a fiction. Your stock just went up a huge amount in my books

  253. If I hadn’t already lived in the Philippines for 4 years, I never would have believed the amount of BS you were put through.
However since I’ve already lived there I completely believe your story because I’ve been in situations similar but not quite as horrible as yours. The nightmare of Philippine bureaucracy is real and still very much alive.
So glad you made it home. Question now is….are you gonna go back and subject yourself to more?

  254. Perhaps I missed it right at the beginning, but, where was your girlfriend when all this happened ? You really needed her to be physically in Cebu, so that she could talk to the authorities and do the running around for you.

  255. I thought my ordeal was bad on the day i was due to fly out i booked a cab to airport it never arrived so i booked another it took forever to arrive as was new years day then got stuck in traffic made it just as they was closing gates another 1-2 mins and i would have missed, next time i will be arriving at airport 5hr prior to be on the extra safe side of things. what Reekay has been through was pure hell i listened to everything and really just couldn’t believe what i was hearing, honestly i wanted to cry it was that painful. Thank god he’s home safe and his mom is ok

  256. Reekay I was in Cebu for 6 months at the same condo where you also stayed when the pandemic started but I’m back to the US now when the first flight out was available.

  257. I’m sorry you caught Covid and I’m happy you are better. Honestly the way you were wearing your mask in your previous videos while traveling, not even covering your nose, it doesn’t surprise me. 🤷

  258. It really seems like you kept your cool through the whole ordeal. I couldn’t imagine being stuck in that room for 10 days I got to hand it to you, for not freaking out

  259. Seen a few of your real estate tours from Dumaguete. First up I thuoght everyone knew that if you stay in hotels or other peoples condos in Philippines ( or Thaialnd or Indonesia) always always carry a small can of Lysol in toilet bag. Many places hotels and condos dont clean filters so theres a dust build up and other build up of things you dont want to be breathing. 35 years in Asia and Im never without my little Lysol can. Seen similar stories of people in quarantine in Thailand and Philippines, sad to say the story can be par for the course . Sometimes life smooth sometimes not. In the countries in which we live we can never expect smooth and easy. Its never going to happen.

  260. OMG Henry, this story is wild Sir. Just imagine if a person didn’t have enough money to cover ALL these expenses 😥
The information your providing most certainly can help someone in need.
Anytime on the weekends, I wish to hook up with you when and if you have time.
I’m approximately 1 hour North/West from you. Just let me know.
Enjoy your evening and God bless 🙏

  261. Are you planning to go back to the Philippines now that you are here after all that. No disrespect, but is the girlfriend and the Philippines worth it?

  262. You remind me of me mate lol. I always get into these kinds of situations. I got stuck on Mindanao over a year ago during the Taal volcano eruption. Little did I know I was actually lucky to get out of the Philippines at all because a couple of months later the pandemic started. Things can always be worse!

  263. I had the same experience a few months ago leaving the PH and i wasnt Covid positive, they truly have so organizational issues to work out with information sharing.

  264. Iam a pilipina person..government..is very ..crappy…situations…hope the won’t do that when i come back here in …U.S.A. Coz i have plan to go vacation next month…I’m CITIZEN…

  265. Bpa-pathology.com/covid19-pcr-test-are-scientifically-meaningless/

Its not hard to figure out the reasons why it happens like it does. My take is the health departments get payed for writing you up that’s why you had so many calling trying to find you first. Even the inventor of the PCR test….. biochemist Kary Mullis who won a Nobel prize in chemistry explains on a video that can only be found on LBRY not here. There is no doubt that some of the so called test are tainted

  266. So you had a positive Covid test and you continued to visit Malls and moved to another hotel and it’s the Philippines fault? Did you every think you may be exposing others by your actions? No Symptoms does not mean Covid free. Most cases do not show any symptoms. Please be considerate of others.

  267. I’m never, ever, never, ever going to the Philipines. I never ever ever want to even think about going to the Philipines. I’m scratching that one off my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.

  268. The whole quarantine hotel system in most countries are piss poor and actually in my humble opinion spread more then doing it yourself in the safety of your own home. It is a cash grab for a select group of companies and the government in charge.

  269. This covid is such BS.You had to go into covid isolation because you tested positive. So that means you were sick with covid right? Then you stay in a quarantine hotel for 8 days and then your magically cured.
    What a SCAM.

  270. Thats a horrible experience. Before covid I found travel to the Philippines challenging but acceptable. Leaving the Phillipines confusing and challenging. Travel in the Phillipines completely unacceptable. Honest and correct information when asking directions or advice I found to be virtually non-existant. Not that filipinos are being mean on purpose – they just dont know the info but are afraid to say I dont know and so they give answers that provide no value to me or are misdirected. We know the government there is not good. Now add Covid and all the new BS and misunderstandings that go with it and I am surprised anyone is traveling anywhere. My take-away from this is you had a false positive on your covid test. Probably got mixed up with someone else – or they knew they could get money from an American. The other take-away for me is no International travel until the world is done with covid. I will be surprised if you travel outside the U.S. over the next 5 years !!!

  271. there are so many covid 19 pts who are asymptomatic ….when i booked my hotel in manila ,which i aready cancelled ,i was told that i need to quarantine for 7 days and another 7 days at my home . when they told me that i need to be quarantined ,i knew all along that i will be isolated and never be permitted to leave ,until its over ,depending on covid-19 result .since ,you were tested (+) ,the restrictions were more severe . i would be more scared ,if your ordeal happened in muslim dominated ,war torn , hostile to the US and non English or Spanish speaking countries . However, your situation was different too ,as your MUM was ill .Hope,it wouldnt happen to you or anybody again !

  272. 12:35. As a fireman and medical personnel I could see this coming a mile away. No hotel wants covid-19 people unless that’s what they do.
This is why I would not fly to the Philippines this June. Even though we already had Covid-19

  273. I also have this nonStop cough. This happened to me when I went back in Phil last year a month before Covid Stayed and look after my father in the hospital. Cough Lasted about 3 weeks. Went to the private doctor to get antibiotics and she also has a percestent cough. Then I ask my cousins what’s going on since I started coughing in the house because they start coughing non stop. And my cousin who just visited from the US said that this is common. Your body hasn’t adapted to the environment or It may be some king of virus spreading , next time I’ll bring my own antibiotics and some berbarine extract powder (natural antibiotics) casupAted to kill that bastard cough. It was really embarrassing moving around town and your coughing like there is no tomorrow.

  274. This story is ABSOLUTELY CRAZY!!! How can all that be so disrespectful – unorganized….not value your human rights of freedom…this story really shows how bad it can actually be if things really get worse… What a nightmare! I would have lost my temper sooo many times…

  275. You caught Covid and coughed your head off, I only heard you say that you had caught a cough! But you were positive for Covid. So was it Covid or a false positive ?
God bless you Cebu is full insanity! I do some business in Mandaue. Great content !

  276. it’s really sad what happened to you Henri it’s an incredible story …. leaving their country take for 5 weeks to get out and prevents us from not entering …..do you think ‘they put you in this room to confirm and make you sick ?????? did they make you sick ? I believe it because of the air conditioning that’s where all the germs are ……….and then the problem in the Philippines in Thailand in these countries they’re never cleans the air conditioning filter it’s rotten it’s been there for 10 -20 years all the bacteriass are there… I was sick to the max all the time 30 days + 30 days ….when I was in Manila in Bangkok all air conditioning is old + all the exhaust pipes of motor vehicles buses, taxis are not up to standard no catalysts or muffler etc…it is direct total extreme pollution.

  277. the joke of the century after putting you sick with air conditioning lock up

They declares that you are cured ??? you have a certificate no doctor has seen you ???

you wher sick to death until you get home california is totally madness ???
