In this video, we discover the Thailand response. We have a problem here in Thailand. There have been no deaths reported at this time, however, cases of an illness are rising substantially due to an outbreak in a large fish market near the capitol of Bangkok. The Thai government are doing there best to respond appropriately to the situation. Hopefully, Thailand’s problem will not affect in-bound travelers from other countries. We hope to keep tourism alive and well in Thailand, but the threat of closures and lockdowns have us all concerned.

  1. JC, the problem is the porous border with Myanmar. The “C” breakout in Chiang Mai and this one had its origins with people sneaking over the border. While I agree that we will see a return to inter-provincial checkpoints and more aggressive enforcement of social distancing and masks, etc., I would be surprised if they actually close the borders to tourists and non-immigrants coming in by air, doing “Q”, and so on as they are not the source of the problem.
